agreed...Already bought my three day, flying in from Iraq for this one. I have a feeling there are going to be some tough decisions on what stage to watch. Only wish Interpol and Modest Mouse were playing but I guess that is just greedy.

Damn, no Pumpkins or Rage. Oh well, still a good lineup.

now that's something to look forward too...

i was really hoping neil young would play, but i can easily live with this lineup w/o him.

These are the one's I really want to see. * for those that I'm most interested in.

    Bob Dylan
    The Killers
    Wilco*
    Arcade Fire
    Muse*
    Damien Rice
    Lucinda Williams
    Spoon
    Indigo Girls
    The Decemberists*
    Amy Winehouse
    Crowded House*
    Kaiser Chiefs
    Ben Kweller
    Bela Fleck & The Flecktones
    Pete Yorn*
    Will Hoge
    Midlake
    Grace Potter and the Nocturnals*
    JJ Grey & Mofro*
    The Broken West

Looks like a good lineup. I'm still not sure if I'm up for a festival in the raging Austin heat. We'll see. :)

I can't handle outdoor festival concerts anymore. I can barely handle the Toyota Center. I think that's why Verizon Wireless is my favorite place for shows in Houston.

its not really the outdoor festival part. the problem is the 3 days in a row of it. adjusting to monday and work or school is interesting.

because by sunday you are pretty much spent.

I'm just not a big "outdoorsy" person to begin with. Concerts are fine. Outdoor concerts are occassionally fine. But, a festival that lasts days...aye.

It wasn't too bad last year--mostly cloudy and it rained at night.

The two years before that were brutal, though. Sunday 2005 was the hottest day of the year in Austin...107!

If it's dry weather, you'll need something to cover your face by Sunday night because the grass is trampled and dust clouds engulf the lower parts of the park. You'll be picking dirt boogers for days.

Is Houston hotter than Austin? I always thought it was.

Houston is more humid than Austin, but not hotter. Austin is, on average, about 1 degree hotter than Houston during the summer and it's record highs June through August are 3-4 degrees higher than Houston's record highs.

ACL fest is a crapshoot. Some years ok, some years complete hell. The year Rita came through was by far the worst.

They have a massive new irrigation system in place so the days of the dust bowl should be over for the most part. Lets just hope for a little cool front to blow through the day before the festival starts.

Nevertheless, Houston is a lot hotter than Austin. I can do 3 days in Austin. I can't do 3 hours in Houston.

This is my planned lineup. I was disappointed that there was no Neal Young or Stevie Wonder like the list Jeff first threw out there. I always love to see Mofro and am looking foward to seeing Dylan for the first time. Can someone please explain to me why anyone truly likes Bjork? I just don't get it.

no one can possibly explain why the really "like" bjork.... just give you some artschool jibberish. she is trash.

mofro is a chill band to see, if not a little monotanous.

the white stripes.... the lineup starts and ends with them, imo. jack white is a genius.
