Random note to all teams: if you get a bad call in your favor, the officials are looking for a makeup call immediately to appease the fans and announcers. DO NOT set a screen at that point. Screens are like holding in football; you can call them as illegal on almost any play if you wanted to. Don't give the officials the chance.

Too many teams over the years, and the Spurs just now, don't make that slight adjustment, and it's so easy.

At this point, the refs are doing whatever they want... whenever they want... regardless of the situation.

Duncan is simply trying to get position away from the ball, and a foul is called on him. On the next possesion, he elbows Harris after passing the ball, and the foul is called on Harris.

I thought the refs were supposed to let them PLAY in the PLAYoffs.

(ps - Kerr just pissed his pants on that Finley dunk).

A delay of game (for a technical) with under four minutes to go in a tight game? Along with an absurd blocking foul on Duncan when he was set and outside the circle? This game, on the officials incompetence, has just gone from the Spurs up five with the ball to a two-point game.

If Dallas loses this game, you can hang it on Stackhouse. There were 3 or 4 possessions in a row when they were up 8 where he comes down and attempts the one on one post up on Bruce Bowen. How stupid could you be? Every one of those possessions resulted in a bad fade away jumper that was way off or a turnover and San Antonio went right down and tied the game up. Stackhouse is such an egomaniac. Stupid.

That last foul on Duncan is why I think Dallas would have a chance against Detroit. I mean imagine Sheed getting that kind of treatment - the guys head would explode, taking him out for the rest of the series. Thank God Detroit has homecourt. You figure if it comes down to the last few games, Dallas will not recieve that sort of love from the refs.

The game wouldn't be close enough if Dallas was playing Detroit... the Pistons math up VERY well against them.

Jesus... yet another example of bad-looking shot attempts drawing a whistle (Terry), but good-looking shot attempts with contact (Duncan's) get no-calls.

The stronger players are good enough not to be noticeably affected by contact, but they get short-changed because they don't get the foul calls. Meanwhile, the weeker players will flail/flop/lose control of their bodily functions when they shoot the ball... that the refs have no choice.

    Pathetic.

Spurs are giving this series away...despite what the refs are doing.

Dirk is proving what kind of pseudo superstar he is. He is relying on the likes of Harris and Terry and Stackhouse to cover his sorry ass in the whole series.

I have never seen a superstar who disappears in the 4th quarter in the most important playoff series so consistently like that.

They did screw up that one play... but they've played well enough to win both of these games in Dallas. The Mavs aren't getting the out-right ref treatment today that they got last game, but they're still relying more on how the game is called to dictate their offense/defense (getting lots of FT's, getting foul calls on Duncan as he's fighting for position, or setting a pick).

If the refs call these games like traditional playoff games, and they're consistent in both of them, I don't think they would be close at all.

Are you f***ing! kidding me?! What the hell kind of call was that...Dirk was doing just as much pushing as Bowen.

I have NEVER seen a foul call like that at the end of a playoff game... EVER.

People who don't think Dirk gets some special treatment from the refs are BLIND... hell, the whole "he's bigger and stronger" argument doesn't apply to a 7 footer backing down Bruce Bowen, I guess. But they'll let little guys practically mug Shaq, Yao and Duncan because they're supposed to be able to withstand it.

    Ridiculous.

It is getting too obvious. Especially at such late in the game.

Well, the NBA is getting what it wants... a close/exciting series that really shouldn't be.

Good final shot though, no chance for Dallas if he missed it....

I want a 7 game series, this is awesome.

Anyone else notice that as soon as Avery put KVH on the bench permanently his team got a lot better.

I remember when KVH got hurt in the Rockets Mavs series that I thought it was bad for us, we needed another slow footed soft player in their rotation.

But, it was a foul. The problem with the call is that if it were anybody but Dirk, Bowen would have gotten away with all that.

The pressure is still with Finley. With Ginobili fouled out, the Spurs have got to have someone else from the perimeter besides Parker be able to create and score.

Still can't believe the foul. Eight seconds left, game on the line, both players pushing... that's incredibly cheap. Sadly, I wasn't even that upset when it happened... I'm used to it by now.
