wat?? this is going to be the best series in the whole playoffs besides the spurs n pistons in the finals, i really want spurs to win cuz i hate the mavs, i think spurs will and can win depending on ginobili if he can play like he did last season, and if duncan can play almost as good as he did in that 1st half

I'm really struggling with this one. I don't know who I want to lose more. I hate both of these teams sooooo much! I think I want the Spurs to win though, because even if they win another championship, it's just another Spurs championship. I'd hate to see them get another ring, but not nearly so much as I'd hate to see the Mavs get their first rings! Yeah, that settles it...

    GO SPURS! (Oh it hurts!)

Going to be a great series. Two of the three legit teams in the NBA playing against each other (the other being Detroit).

No, it ain't as glamorous as those other teams that are all stars and no defense, but it is the best teams battling for every inch.

Exciting finish -- let's hope Big Shot can nail a game winner for the Rocket fans in the house.

If Dallas can't win this one, it will be a heartbreaker... they've withstood a great game by Duncan, gotten TP and Manu to have terrible shooting games, and gotten huge production off the bench from Stackhouse. They're also playing a Spurs team that has had to exert itself much more in travel/games in the last week.

They have to win at least one in SA... this looked like their best shot.

What in the world was Stackhouse thinking? He had a wide open path to the basket for the tie and instead dribbled back to the corner.

    Emmanuelle sucks.

Parker's penetration does not ... result in baskets.

Unfortunately Dirk proves again that he sucks or stinks in this kind of situation.

    Horry is still clutch.

And that, folks, is why Jerry Stackhouse has been on so many teams.

You have to be flexible in that situation. If the three presents itself, absolutely, go for the win considering it's a road game. But you can't be so deadset on taking the three that you'll take it if a 6'5 defender with long arms is in your face and you're falling out of bounds.

It was a great read by Ginobili to deflect the pass, but he was overaggressive (as he should be) to defend the three. If you're Stackhouse, the smart play is to drive inside and take a relatively uncontested 12-footer to send the game into overtime. He didn't, and the Mavs lost. Very low basketball IQ on that possession.

I hope it is a great series... but I can easily see the Spurs taking at least one game in Dallas, and I just can't see Dallas taking one in SA (especially since the Spurs played semi-sluggish today, and Dallas couldn't capitlize with the halftime lead and full rest).

It could just end up being a home-and-home series, going 7... but if SA can get one of the first two in Dallas, it could also end up being over in 5.

One more reason to root for the Spurs in this series - If the Spurs go on to win the championship, that's one more ring for ex-Rocket Robert Horry!

    Go Spurs! (Oh it hurts!)

The Mavericks lack of clutch player(s) will eventually cost them the series. Spurs in 6.

i only saw the last 3 minutes (why the hell is this the noon game and an east game is at 2:30, like i give a crap about the east), but i can safely say the mavs are a bunch of little choking b****es. we already know most of the spurs except horry and manu are chokers (which makes it amazing that they've won so many titles) but not one mav could step up and hit a shot. and oh my goodness stackhouse, you get a free path to tie the game and you dribble back into the corner right to the defender. and nice job by nowitzki to pass out of taking the big shot. i don't know what he did the rest of the game, but that wasn't good. of course others should be thrilled he passed it to a teammate. you don't want your stars taking shots at the end, at all costs. stackhouse really came through.

who would've thought the totality of the scoring in the last 3 minutes would be Bowen 3, Dampier 1.

Good teams always do this. The Cavs beat the Wizards by letting Damon Jones hit the game winner. The Rockets championship years were won with big last-second shots by Kenny Smith (game tying shot in Game 1 of the finals), Robert Horry (vs. Spurs), Elie (Suns), etc. The Spurs have won numerous playoff games with big shots by Horry. The Lakers won a game with a Derek Fisher shot. The Bulls had shots from people like Steve Kerr.

Good teams with good players realize that having a secondary player shoot an open shot is better than trying to jack something up against a double team (as Nowitski would have had to do).

I'm going for the Spurs on this series.

Dallas rubbed me the wrong way when they beat us in last year's play-offs.

They are becoming the Suns in the early mid-90's who kept running into a boogey team who just own them.
