Yea that was bad although Horry sorta got Ainge back with the towel in his face. But like Max said that was over 10 years ago with completely different players.

I mean honestly, Sam, you are going to hate a team that had different players and did things over 10 years ago on the same level of the team that has the most annoying owner in sports in Mark Cuban and the biggest flopper of them all in Dirk Nowitski?? To me that is being a little irrational.

yeah, your hate for people you've never met or taken the time to get to know should really be more rational, sam.

    i'm just kidding, manny! :D that's sports!

Good game, and I'm glad the Suns won...I figured since i cheered for the Spurs and they lost, I'd cheer for Dallas for the same result...

Terrible officiating on both sides, but I don't think Dallas can keep up the run and gun all series long...They had a chance to pick up a game and couldn't get it done...

Ya'll are forgetting the Suns barely, and I mean barely, escaped the Lakers (TT 3 saved them in game 6 or they lose in round 1) and Clips (few different bounces in game 5 and the Clips close them out in game 6). They couldn't come close to handling Brand and the Clips handled them fairly easily when the Clips played disciplined and through Brand, let alone could they handle a Duncan or Oneal.

I'll be routing for the Suns, but I still don't think they have much of a chance versus Dallas, I expect Dallas to adjust and have too much. If Dallas plays up to the Suns tempo, the Suns can win some games as we saw. (Even though the game went as well as the Suns could expect stylewise and Dallas still almost, and probably should have, beat them).

Miami is playing at a very high level. If Detroit beats Miami they will have to play at a very high level and I expect them to carry it through to the finals. IMO 3 teams the Suns really don't have a chance versus--the Spurs, Pistons and Heat. Dallas would join them if they were smarter and had steadier guard leadership to keep the tempo down. The only way Dallas could lose to them is by playing the Suns style, those other 3 best half court teams would not fall into that trap.

Thacabbage, while I obviously disagree about the Suns title outlook this year, spot on about KVH. Stockton couldn't score like Nash, that is a major difference. While Stockton maintained at a higher level for a long time I think he is slightly overrated when people discuss his impact in his peak (some claim he is the #2 PG behind Magic). IMO Stockton didn't individually have the impact of say an Isiah or Nash because he was a little less of a scoring threat--because those guys can score more when needed and run the show and make their teammates better I think they are more dominant at their peaks. Stockton always has Karla to rely on breaking down the defense and scoring, and this always worked very well until the NBA finals :)

Also, remember the Suns have Atl #1 pick next year (only top 3 protected) or the following year, plus another 1st rounder, plus extra 2nd rounders. Considering the age of Amare, Diaw, Barbosa and these future draftees they are posed as well as anyone as a franchise. But this year is not their year, they have been remarkable to advance as far as they have with their injuries and limited bigs--and they are not as good as last year's team which itself did not fair very well against a disciplined and well rounded club (Spurs). If Dallas learns to play smart and disciplined the Suns will be cooked, and Miami or Det will cook them if Dallas doesn't.

I know it's almost treasonous to say it, but I was hoping the Mavs would knock out the Spurs, specifically because the Mavs would be an easier matchup for the Suns.

I wanted that not because I was a fan of the Suns in general (Amare really frosts me off), but because I am a fan of Nash. I still remember his amazing performance in the 2000 Olympics game between Canada and Australia, where he beat a team that was vastly superior in every position except one -- him. And so I have been quietly following his career ever since.

With Amare out of the picture this year, I find it a lot easier to follow the Suns.

I can't believe I am cheering for Dallas, but I am a native Texan. It seems only right, although I despise them when they play the Rockets. I love to watch Steve Nash play, though. I think he has taken his game to a new level with the Suns. He is amazing. Why can't we come up with a Devin Harris; where do other teams find these players? Oh well, we have Flying Ryan, that's something. The Suns and Mavs are really fast, great shooters, very entertaining. All the playoff games have been great. I wish the Rockets were in them.

blah, you guys are all light side of the force Jedi wusses.

I have much hate for any west team not playing in Houston. I have long, deep seeded hatred for nearly every single west team that has ever been a rival to the rockets, with a few exceptions:

    Spurs
    Jazz
    Nugz
    Suns
    Sonics
    Lakers

All have reached the hate stage due to playoff battles past.

Spurs/Jazz: I don't even need to tell you about why I hate them.

Mavs: hate dating back to Harper, Perkins, Tarpley, et al. Plus the new incarnations. Hate.

Nugz? I can't remember why, something to do with Doug Moe. But they have George Karl now, so = hate

Suns? 94, 95 and 03 - I hate those bastards. Ainge, AC, Chuck, Majerle, doofus Paul Westphal = hate. Plus there was this obnoxious poster named Sinslin or slinslin who was a suns fan who was on here 3 years ago. Hate.

Sonics: Cheater illegal defense, ******* George Karl hate.

Lakers: at least they were better than the celtics, but "beat LA" hate remains.

Grizzlies: I hate Pau Gasol. Whiny. Obnoxious fans. Stupid new school franchise. Loser pathetic team who can't win a playoff game. hate hate hate.

    Non/semi hate:

Clips - non hate, they're the clips. Semi hate from 93 playoffs
Blazers - semi hate back in 94 first round, some pippen hate, otherwise not much hate.
Kings - not much hate, maybe a little from their win streak against the rox from a few years ago.
Hornets - who cares? no hate
T wolves - not much hate, minnesotans are inoffensive.

Eastern conference: some hate when I feel like it, because their conference sucks

So anyway, let your hatred flow, Luke, FEEL THE POWER. I don't want any team other than the rockets to ever win the title, ever. They're simply not good enough or deserving enough. They should erase the record books after 95.

I hate those teams. Hate hate hate. It makes me stronger.

So what do you do when hated teams collide? I don't know about you, but my Dirk/Cuban/Howard/Terry hate trumps my Suns hate right now.

Could you imagine how many blocks Hakeem would of had against these "high powered" offenses?

Harris is a second year player. The Mavs haven't been to the lottery in years.

He was a number 5 pick. They traded Jamison for the pick and Stackhouse I believe. So basically, you have to have a top lottery pick or an extra 20 ppg scorer to give up for one. We have had neither the last few years.

This is the beauty of the "talent collection" that Mark Cuban did, regardless of if the players fit. Having all those guys like Jamison, Stackhouse, Walker, etc on the team, even if they don't work out, they have great trade value.

Cuban has been magnificent in getting talent to the Mavs, he has been running circles around the NBA in that regard.
