I like seeing them win without Amare. I don't like Amare because of the cocky garbage that spewed from his mouth regarding Yao. I don't really like Kurt Thomas either, for that matter.

I don't like Marion when we play against him - mainly because we have no one who even comes close to matching up with him outside of TMac.

first off, very congenial and mature post by you before. stay classy tony.

offensive fouls? nash runs over harris. foul on harris. harris blows by nash, foul on harris. bell flopping and getting another call. someone on phx still moving as stackhouse drove in earlier for a 3 pt play and getting the offensive foul. not that dallas didn't get some calls, but offensive fouls was definitely all suns in this game. did they even call phx for an offensive foul?

I have hated them since 94 and 95 and haven't dropped it. I also hated them in 03 when they nipped us out of the playoffs despite being pathetic.

But I hate Dallas too. I hope they all test postivie for drugs and the season is a forfeit.

    Weak. Extremely weak.

Yes, the Mavericks never receive any favoritism from the refs.

    Swish.

At this point I'm almost praying for the Suns to go all the way just so Rox managment gets a jolt. Teams can and will start blowing the doors off teams offensively, and either we get with the program or waste the best years of Yao and Tracy's respective careers.

I disliked the Suns when they had Stoudamire because that team truly scared me with their offense, but I was sick at the way they played defense (mainly because Stoudamire has the capability to be a GOOD defensive player).

Now, since they don't have him, I admire their resilience a whole lot more... and the fact that they're beating Dallas, just makes it 10x better.

BTW... it is definitely a travesty that Amare may never be the same sort of player again... and if he does eventually rehab back to full strength, Steve Nash's best years will be way behind him.

It was a team effort, no doubt, but Nash was and IS still by FAR the most important player and the engine behind this team, there's little to no denial of that fact.

LMAO! It's futile man, give it up already! STOP DENYING NASH'S GREATNESS! Be fair for freakin' once in your life! Just admit you're still bitter about the Suns coming from behind to squash your Lakers. Diaw is a special young player, but the system is the reason why he has a chance to shine, put him on the Rockets' ugly offense and let's see how effective he will be when he can't run freely and create on offense in a running game. If you ask him to rebound and defend (which is what the Rox want from their PF, a bruiser type), he loses ALL his effectiveness, because he's shorter and weaker than everyone else around him. The genius behind the Suns' system is that they pick players that fit the system well and that way they can maximize their potential.

CORRECTION! They're the best TEAM in the playoffs, because they play like a team 1-through-5, I think what you meant was that on paper, they have the worst lineup in the playoffs. That's part of their appeal, however, that there are no 'megastars' on that team, that their whole is far greater than the sum of their parts, they're almost the underdogs in every single series they play in (on paper, that is), until they step out on the court and show you what they can do and who they can be as a team.

When I started watching this game, I had intentions of cheering for Dallas. Logically, I thought that's where I should go. I respected how they beat the Spurs (as miserable as it made me), and their first half in that game was the most brilliant basketball I've ever seen. I can't stand how repeatedly lucky Phoenix has been with role players like Bell and Thomas.

But, when that Dallas team got on the floor and I had to look at Dirk's pouting face about ten times a minute... I couldn't do it. I switched back to Phoenix, and I'm glad I did. I had so much fun watching Cuban's heart ripped out on that last possession.

Now, if only the Suns can do it three more times... :(

That's exactly why I have no problem with them this year, because the ONLY player I dislike on the Suns is not even playing, and their run in the playoffs this season ONLY further proves that Amare (as great as he may be) is only a 'piece' to the puzzle on that team, so in a sort of round-about way it's a slap to his face and his arrogance.

Of course, having Dallas on the top of my "most hated" list makes it easy for me to root for the Suns.

This board itself is full of evil people that always wish something bad to happen to other teams.

Well, let's hope Suns keep this up and send Mavs home crying. :D

i know it's customary not to call travelling, ticky tack fouls, etc on a last second shot, especially with a star player (lebron, MJ, etc). it's just that sometimes the anything-goes-because-it's-the-end-of-the-game officiating mentality gets annoying. maybe it did even out like you said (i didn't pay much attention till the end), but whatever, no matter.

Understand your point, but the refs have been consistent in not calling ticky tacky stuff on players in closing/crucial minutes of the game, so it's not like the Suns got the benefit of the doubt.

Moreover, considering that Dallas got more calls (especially non-calls) to go their way tonight, I think it's completely garbage of anyone to use the refs as an 'out' or an excuse for Dallas.

    Oh, Duck Fallas!

you seem to be under the impression that's why i don't like the suns. i actually liked them most of the season. the real reason i don't like them is nash winning 2 mvp awards and the constant fawning over him. that's really pretty much it. i thought the suns would beat the lakers in 5 and maybe sweep. i didn't think until the lakers were up by 3 late in game 6 that they really had a shot. them beating the lakers was pretty much something i expected. a big reason i was rooting for the lakers was b/c i'm sick of nash being given mvp's.

as for rooting for dallas, give me a break. i only root for them as the lesser of two evils. i hate the spurs far worse and them losing was a treat. i have to like dallas for that. and now that i don't like the suns, i want the mavs to win. seeing them win a title is definitely not something i want.

so you agree the system makes people look better. do you not also agree it makes nash look better? just b/c nash makes it go (and he does) doesn't make him the best player in the nba. like i said, it's like a really good qb being the qb for ttech. you need a smart leader to really make it look good but it's set up to look good from the beginning. everyone benefits from playing with so many weapons (when's the last time a player on phoenix was double teamed? it pretty much doesn't happen b/c everyone hits 40% of their 3's and teams are scared to death to leave anyone open) and everyone looks good. it's like the dream system to play in if you can shoot, pass, and dribble and the suns have picked up a ton of guys who can do those things.

of course. obviously if they win it all they're not the worst. but on paper for this team to make the finals would show something really special is happening for them this year. the spurs whooped them last year, and now they're worse but may beat the team that was capable of beating the spurs. that's pretty crazy.

woah now, this is the first series they've been underdogs, even on paper. they were way to quick and good on offense to be underdogs to the clippers and lakers. i still can't believe they went 7 with the lakers. the clippers were closer to them.

and be a little calmer, ease up on the exclamation points and wild exaggerations, and don't take your suns bandwagoning so personally. i'm pretty sure we're all still rockets fans.

You should go to lakers forums and see how they're celebrating Bell's injury. Those Kobe worshipers could be very bitter. :D

Totally agree. And I want to add that I have no problem if Suns win this series with all the favoured calls. Just by imagine Cuban spending whole offseason watching and compilling bad calls video is enough to make me happy.

I start to root for the Suns to go all the way and win the championship this year. Like many said, I recognize Amare as a very good player, but just doesn't like him as a person. On the other hand, I like Steve Nash very much, not because he's a Canadian, but rather his approach to the game - basketball is a team game, and he enjoys making everyone else better, not just on the court. Remember those reports of him taking Dirk to practice everyday, and talking to him everyday about the game? He took Amare under his thin wings, and now Diaw. It's just amazing what that person can do, although he doesn't defend, doesn't rebound, doesn't rant, and he flops, I like his play making.

I can't like Lakers, they beat them. I would be happy if Sam wins, but they are no Rockets, I don't mind Suns beating them. I can't like Dallas, especially Dirk, although he's a very very good player. But every time he went to the free throw line, I would imagine what if the refs treat Yao like Dirk, he would be average 40 points a game, and 20 from the line. The Rockets would be counting on the rings.

The Suns are a really close team. Everyone is excited playing this game, competitive and relaxing. They are not afraid to make mistakes, but without Amare, they are not cocky either. What's there not to like?

Although I would be enving them, I don't mind if they win it all this year.

another reason i'd rather see the mavs win. if, God forbid, miami beats detroit and shaq gets another chance at a title, i think the mavs have a better chance of winning than the suns.

    detroit
    dallas
    phx

    miami

is pretty much my ordered preference for who wins the title. and i don't even like detroit, which makes this a crappy final 4, but still very exciting if all the games of the WCF are like this.
