Oh... I'm not knocking that... he's making the most of his opportunity. I'm just saying that he's making his "fame" in this game by hitting some wide open 3's... which is how Maloney basically got a 6 year contract (so, hitting 3's is a big deal... it just may not translate to long-term success).

Barbosa is the KEY guy right now... esp. while Nash is out. If he starts taking over.. it could be lights out for the Mavs.

(damn... Josh Howard is the key guy for the Mavs... and he's back in).

Yeah Cuban, send that in. The only thing there is your player holding the guy.

Comparing Tim Thomas and Matt Maloney is a massive leap ~ let's just move on to something else.

If only Yao got the ref treatment that Dirk gets for being a jump shooter. Hell... I thought Yao got less respect from the refs because he was doing nothing but shooting jump shots.

    Ah well... Dirk sucks.

Dirk uses the exact same move/fake everytime, and everytime a foul is called.

Because the league got tired of Cuban complaining for it years back... and now that the precedent is set, they can't revert back to just calling it "true", minus a few occasional circumstances (like game 4).

There goes JT swiping at Nash's "sack"... what's up with JT? First he punches Finley's pair, and now Nash's.

    JT may have a secret...

Watching this kind of playoff game makes me hopefull of seeing this from yao and tmac. Superstars taking over the game with the fans behind them.

Yao was never a jump shooter.

And neither is Dirk right now, at least not against the Suns.

Dirk has adjusted his game to playoff basketball which is a smart move. During the regular season jump shots are easier and the guy can flat out shoot the ball. In crunch time, he plays the percentages and takes the ball to the basket. In a tight playoff series, crunch time is all the time.

Unlike last postseason, Dirk has matured this postseason into a player who has figured out he cannot be stopped. When his team needs him, he just puts them on his back. I don't like him, but Dirk has taken the step into superstardom and when 1 or 2 of his teammates can also hit shots, the Mavs will be hard to stop down the stretch of any game against any team.

yeah he must've blown on his fingers too much and cooled them off b/c he forgot to score in the 4th quarter. i hate role players who talk crap and try to get away with it by having better teammates who pull out the win (though thomas was huge tonight, he's still a role player for the suns in the grand scheme of things).

finally dirk started playing like dirk and actually making a damn shot. the mavs inability to shoot recently against the non-existent suns D after shooting almost 47% against the spurs D has been perplexing. hopefully they keep going in game 6.

and contrary to popular belief, i don't think they really have to slow it down to beat the suns. they don't wanna play a crazy all-out game but running won't hurt them. the perception is they lost game 1 b/c they played at phoenix's pace, but they had a 9 point lead with 3 minutes to go. if you can't hold a 9 point lead for 3 minutes, it doesn't matter what style you play. and it wasn't as if the mavs were throwing up shots with 19 on the shot clock in those last 3 minutes. they just sucked. they can play fast and beat the suns. i actually think they are better when their offense is a little up-tempo and in rhythm even if it helps the suns O versus holding the suns back but being out of rhythm themselves. when dirk and howard and terry are free-stroking like they can, i don't think the suns can keep up. when dallas shoots 41% by trying to slow it down too much, a few 3's from the suns and the suns can win. dallas scored 117 and won and i think gunning for about 110 should be their goal. they can win that way and when dirk is flowing, it for once puts pressure on the suns to score and keep up instead of the other team always trying to keep up with the suns.

it doesn't hurt when you shoot almost as many free throws as the other team combined and the refs give you lots of love for flopping like a rag doll all over the place

dirk is a great player, but he also now holds the crown as the league's biggest flopper.

jason terry going for the nuts again. this is getting out of control.

tim thomas backed up his trash talking. i wish the suns looked for him more in the 4th

the two technical fouls followed by the Dallas score really was a huge momentum swing. Marion's questionable 4th foul call prior to that also hurt the Suns big time.

Thomas needs to stop with his stupid John Cena moves. doing that after every basket is lame.
