IMO, you are way off base. The success of the Suns' style (which is a European style BTW), the Pistons opening up their offense, the ability of teams like the Spurs and Mavs to play defense and force playoff level transition offense, the presence and marketability of LeBron & Kobe, the entrenchment of the NBA zone and perimeter hand check rule, one of the most exciting 1st rounds in recent memory and a record setting attendance means to me they are not changing anything. If the Nets are able to beat the Heat or take them to a Game 7, that ought to resonate with every Rockets' fan here that perimeter "role player" types are exactly the wrong way to fill out next years' roster. That's not a knock on Yao, that just means you have to adapt as a team and have a balanced game rather than totally inside-out or outside-in. With the exception of the Suns, all other elite teams have a decent combination of both. (Carter and Kidd both postup). I'll take what I'm seeing now 10 times out of 10 rather than a return to Shaq getting away with a charge to clear space for his shot.
The Heat are a weirdo team, wouldn't surprise me if they come back and dominate the series, or if they crumble and get swept, Nets better hope Jefferson is alright though.
Really? I hope there are a good amount of changes. Yao and Shaq have really been suffering the past few years. This would be real great for rockets. The white is so tacky. Who makes their fans wear white?
I love the job Thorn has done as well. He really impressed me when he wooed Sharif and got him to the altar but dropped him like a hot potato when his knee problems were revealed. I thought it took a lot of guts to go through all that trouble and then renege at the last minute for a questionable knee injury. His decision on K-Mart, drafting Kristic, getting VC for practically nothing and picking some solid role players were brillant as well. I wish CD was as good as Thorn.
I remember Riley's mom (in her 90s) died before the first playoff game so the fans wore white to show sympathy and respect. But don't know why they keep it still.
no rule changes by the nba are going to change the fact that FIBA refs still care about basketball - which is 5 on 5 man game, not LeBron VS Kobe game
