That's really weird. Who has home court advantage? Well, my money says that Los Angeles wins...... and loses.
So if the Clippers play the Lakers in the next round Is the city of LA really split between the Clippers and Lakers (well I kno there's probably alooot more Laker's fans) but does anybody from LA know how the fans are split? Like Whitesox and Cubs is basically north and south .... and Mets and Yankees are different area in NY but the Lakers and Clippers play in the same stadium in the same city? You'll probably see half/half fans in ALL the GAMES....
Kenny just mentioned coming back being down 3-1. He mentioned you need a beast who can score.. he of course mentioned Dream.. and he mentioned VERNON!!!
Sam + Rockets: NBA Finals (2 times) Sam + Bucks: Eastern Conference Finals Sam + TWolves:Western Conference Finals Sam + Cuttino + Clippers: 1st playoff series victory in 30years... plus..more! Watch out Lakers!
Billy Crystal better watch out or Fancy is gonna scratch his eyes out. I thought Sam and Cat were great in this series. This team looks like it could be good for a long time. I wish we could get Cat back, and that Livingston kid while we are at it. At the beginning of the year I told my cousin that the Clippers and the Warriors would be good this season. I guess 1 out of 2 isn't too bad.
I couldnt me more on the Clippers playoff bandwagon who couldnt have a soft spot for these guys. on paper they should beat the Lakers - but conceivably i have to wonder ...could it really, i mean REALLY, happen??? lets hope so
#10 - ROCKETS "I feel like this team was made for the playoffs," Dunleavy said. "We can match up with anybody and we can play any way. We can go big or we can go small. We can play fast and we can play slow. Whoever our opponent is, we can match up and defend them." #10 - ROCKETS "Everything worked well," Cassell said. "We are deep. And it is so pleasant for me to sit on the bench and only play 24 minutes per night and my ballclub is still in the game. All that added rest I can get in the early round fits me perfectly."
Clippers' Cassell the focus of fans' derision http://www.etaiwannews.com/showPage...C5DE1DB1E89FAB_14&area=taiwan&area_code=00000 2006-05-01 / KNIGHT RIDDER AND ASSOCIATED PRESS / By David Ramsey Denver Denver Nuggets guard Earl Boykins, right, has a shot blocked by Los Angeles Clippers' center Chris Kaman in the second quarter of Game 4 of their NBA playoff series in Denver, Colorado on Saturday./REUTERS What's so vile about the smile? Colorado fans don't like Sam Cassell. They don't appreciate his ridiculous confidence. They don't admire the massive smile he wears whether his team is up - or down - by 15. Mostly, they don't enjoy the way he's pushing the once lowly Los Angeles Clippers past the Denver Nuggets. Cassell and his Clippers destroyed the Nuggets, 100-86, and grabbed a 3-1 series lead. Dump all doubts. This series is over. "We did it as a group," Cassell said, a few minutes after the demolition. "We did it as a family." Denver fans boo every time Cassell touches the ball. They shout mean words. They make fun of Cassell's distinctive face, which bears a striking resemblance to E.T.'s. Cassell pays no attention to Colorado's lack of good manners. He just keeps delivering his nonstop, often obscene chattering to opponents and teammates. He just keeps dabbling in the lost art of the medium-range jump shot. He just keeps making a complicated game look simple as he gleefully rips past defenders to baskets. "The game is easy for him," said Nuggets coach George Karl, who coached Cassell at Milwaukee. "He's not quick or fast, but he's cute and slippery." He's also a winner. Cassell, 35, is the proud owner of two NBA title rings, won with the Houston Rockets in 1994 and 1995. He irritates opponents, but he's a devoted, wise teammate. He studies the game while he sits the bench, and bounces to his feet during timeouts, greeting his teammates with hand slaps, hugs and, at times, critical words. His tough love has transformed the Clippers. Before this season, the Clippers had recorded only one winning record in the past 24 seasons. Elgin Baylor serves as general manager of the Clippers. In the late `50s, Baylor was a sky-walking pioneer for the Lakers, the Michael Jordan of his day. There was, it seemed, nothing Baylor couldn't do on the court. But for years, he couldn't revive the befuddled Clippers. Then Cassell arrived, and the Clippers motored straight to the playoffs. "I never paid attention to the smile," Baylor said of the years he watched Cassell shred the Clippers. "I was just angry with the results. The guy would just kill us, like he did so many other teams." Cassell clashes with current basketball fads. In an age of dunkers, a time when players yearn to overpower defenders, Cassell seeks easy, basic shots. And when the Cassell show starts clicking, his mouth kicks into full throttle. "It's no fun when Sam beats you, because you never hear the end of it," said Nuggets guard Greg Buckner. Two seasons ago, Cassell led the Minnesota Timberwolves to a quick knockout of the Nuggets in the NBA playoffs, and Denver fans started their tradition of booing his every move. Two seasons later,Basketball's greatest comedian is still dropping 15-foot jumpers. If anything, he looks a little younger, a little lighter. And even more confident. "I gave this team some swagger, some confidence, that it never had," Cassell said. Words from a man who will be smiling his way straight to the next round of the playoffs.
As they joked, Terrell Owens, who's been to several Clippers games this season since he's friends with Clippers trainer and former 49ers trainer Jasen Powell, walked into the locker room. "T.O.," said Cassell. "Like you said it's only a matter of time. It's only a matter of time before you hit that end zone too, baby." As Owens hugged both Cassell and Mobley, they walked out together. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/si_blogs/nba/playoffs/2006/2006/05/party-time-for-clippers.html
