I can't watch this anymore. Same old song and dance with the Texans. The team leads the league in sacks allowed, and AGAIN, we don't address the OL in the first 2 rounds. BROKEN RECORD. I'll bet Carr just threw the remote at his nice, expensive plasma TV.
Probably bad. He doesn't get off blocks very well and he got lost in crowds. In my opinion, a very mdiocre player. At least he'll be good in the United Way commercials.
Actually, Ryans is a great value pick and a speedy defensive LB that's great for the 4-3. He's highly touted and highly ranked as a prospect. However, I still feel that we needed to address more obvious holes. Let's see what happens. 2 picks coming in the 3rd round
Oh, so because I think one pick isn't the worst pick in the history of sports, I must think every pick they've ever made is outstanding? Just tell me, MB. Is there a possible way I can talk draft with you guys and actually debate with me over what I say instead of assuming baseless generalizations that aren't even close to my intent? For the record, I'm appalled by this pick. Can't stand it.
So, do we jump off the Wells Fargo Building, the The Chase Building, Bank of America Building or go into the Galleria area and jump off the Williams Tower?
So did LonghornFan. We all know Charlie is a simp, but did he have to rub off some of his simpness on Kubiak? Seriously, is our coaching staff the only one in the league that doesn't think our O-Line is completely horrible? Worst day EVER!
This is from the Chronicle: Scouting Report: The 2005 SEC Defensive Player of the Year, Ryans might be the ultimate package if his physical attributes matched his character. Over his career at Alabama he was a regular nominee for myriad awards because of his leadership ability and academic excellence. A class act on and off the field, Ryans has neither great size nor eye-popping speed. He's a very sound, intelligent, and hard-working defender who continues to grow as a defender, but there are questions about his ability to be as effective in the NFL as he was in college. That doesn't mean he won't succeed, but he'll likely need to be in the right system to flourish and isn't a good bet to be as useful as an outside lineback as he was at 'Bama. There are questions about how much ceiling he has left on his development, but never bet against him.
I just thought of something. With an improved, kickass D-Line, we're likely to get more opportunities for the offense, right? Fantastic. Without any O-Line help, that means MORE sacks than ever for Carr! Can we break our own sacks allowed record? Dare I dream the impossible dream?
He's highly touted for his leadership abilities and because he's an academic All American. He lived on his rep more than his playmaking skills. I watched 6 Alabama games last year and he was never dominant.
Guys, if you watch any college football at all, you know this is a good pick. Ryans is easily the 3rd if not 2nd best LB in the draft after Hawk. And have you guys forgotten how the Broncos, Falcons and other teams with our blocking scheme draft the O-Line? As a fan, you have a right to be mad if the Texans don't take a guy who you hear on ESPN and Mel Kiper's top 10 everyday on sportscenter but don't criticize unless you know wth your talking about. 20 other teams passed on those guys (Justice and Williams) so there has to be something that sprung up about them.
Besides the 2nd WTF in as many days... 2. Winston Justice Southern Cal 6-6 1/8 319 5.15 3. Eric Winston Miami (FL) 6-6 5/8 310 4.94 4. Marcus McNeill Auburn 6-7 5/8 336 5.07 Teams with OLine needs have skipped on all 3. Maybe one will drop to the 3rd?
