I think it was a great pick in Williams. What did Bush do against Texas? He had 1 run for a td and the other in which he tried to do something stupid. other than that, he was invisible. He had some garbage yards at the end, but White had a better game. If he is so great , why was he on the becnh in crunchtime?

Oh, I know. I'm cool. There are plenty of people whom I'm still cool with. I just wanted to address the group who chose to attack me for nothing.

I still stick by the fact that i heard all week Bush was a lock. When IC2000 posted on Thursday that the press conference was Saturday I even posted that i couldn't get confimation on that (funny nobody brought up that post). Regardless things went from bad to wrose contract wise and they went with Mario. If people really want to believe it was a football decision then they can. They were scared of a Bush holdout. ESPN and 610 both said Bush turned down the deal that Mario signed.

I hope Mario turns out great. From what i've seen he's a great athlete who had half a good season and made himself at the combine. After all this stuff I don't beleive a word that somes out of a Texans officials mouth. We had a great draft otherwise. For those who said we didn't pick Bush because we had DD, CC said (someone posted this) that we were looking at yet another RB with our 2nd pick. Brilliant. DD, Morency and use your top pick on a risky RB. That's the texans for you

What did Williams do his whole career? He wasn't even his own teams MVP. 75% of his sacks came against garbage teams. I hadn't even heard of the guy before the draft process

But you are responding to everyone now.

Respect is earned, not demanded. There is no better proof than on this site.

    Let it go

    Now I am.

I used to believe that on this site but I certainly don't anymore. I earned my respect with all the rockets info then the Texans say one thing and do another and all of a sudden I have certain epople (some who were around for the Rockets info) calling me a fake, ect.. Of course you're going to respond to that.

I don't have a problem letting it go as long as people don't continue to take shots at me. I obviously will stand up for myself.

No need for the melodrama. You were wrong, it happens to all of us. Big deal, no harm. Now pick up the pieces and get on with your life.

I thought I heard them say that it wasn't a money issue, as proof they said that the contract Williams signed was bigger than the one offered to Reggie...

I was wrong. I can admit to that with no problem. I'm cool with this too.

I honestly hadn't. I watch college football but I never watched NC State play. I hadn't heard his name mentioned for any post season awards either. I had not heard of the guy. Weird thing is that i had heard of his teammate Manny Lawson.

I like our draft (except for Williams #1 and I would have preferred a CB to Ryans). Seemsl ike almost everyone we picked has injury concerns though

I've heard some really wild rumors that Reggie was asking for over 60mil with 40mil gauranteed. If this is true, he deserves to be a Saint. ;)

I am not endorsing this rumor. We all know how crazy some are. :D

Am I the only one who has noticed that all the major publications...yes the same publications that ripped the Texans for taking Williams over Bush...are giving the Texans high grades on their draft?

Usually they get a C or something, I am seeing nothing lower than a B+ and mostly A-.

Well, they can rip the call all they want. But the facts remain..choosing a #2 or #3 prospect over a #1 prospect can't drop you THAT much in grade.

The Texans did well--according to most sources. And some even say that "Taking Williams over Bush dropped them a full letter grade"

Pretty much everyone on ESPN took turns ripping us and then they gave us a B+ rating this morning. It was the same part were they were talking about Reggie not signing the last contract offer and Mario accepting it. We gave Williams 54 Million so a rumor that he was asking for 60 may not be that far fetched. It also could have been a disagreement over guranteed money.
