I think most of us wouldve rather have Youbouty over another OL project in Spenser.

However, maybe if we draft enough of them, 1 will pan out.

I'm happy we got Winston, but would have rather had Youboty or Pope with the other pick.

Two potential DT studs on the board in Rod Wright and Gabe Watson.

well his scouting report seemed phenomenal. apparently the guy's got the talent and he clearly has the size.... his only big weakness was his techinique and you've got to imagine that this is the type of player the kubiak and co. can really make a solid contributor out of.

i was disappointed they didn't go winston youbouty, but with this coaching staff spencer could become a very solid o-linemen.

Don't you know... almost everyone here thinks they know better than Kubiak and co.

I'm gonna wait to see the product on the field before commenting on these picks. However, I do see where they Texans have been going in this draft and it does make sense. We're filling needs with every pick. Reggie Bush wasn't necessarily a need. But Williams, Ryans, Spencer and Winston seem to all fill needs.

Exactly. I'm still sketchy about the first pick but I love Ryans and Winston where we got them.

Rod Wright is just plain lazy. He was so dominant his freshman year and he was so mediocre his senior year. However, if we get him in the 4th or 5th round, that would be awesome.

Jonathon Scott could be a steal too.

Agreed, the Texas players (D. Thomas, J Scott, and Wright) are good value in the 4th round. Remember, Rod was a 1st rounder if he came out after his junior year. He regressed alot the last couple of years, but with the right coaching and motivation he could be an excellent value. Ditto Gabe Watson, who was once considered one of the top DTs in the nation.

No kidding. The way I see it if Kubiak, an offensive coach, sees something in Mario, a defensive player, that makes him pass up Reggie Bush, maybe the kid has something. I haven't seen any NC State games...well, EVER so I'm going to wait until I see him play before I put "I hate the Texans" in my sig or proclaim to the whole BBS that I'm turning into a Titan fan....

I would have rather we drafted Bush, but unlike most people in this thread, I'm willing to admit that maybe JUST MAYBE Kubiak and company know a little more about football than me.

I chose to drink away my pain from all of this last night & then went to meet some friends at a hotel party. Was drunk by the time I got there. There was a guy, a know it all type guy talking trash about Reggie Bush and VY and said they were both all hype and the texans did the right thing. To make a long story short, the argument got heated, we got into a physical altercation, some things in the hotel room were broken and I resisted the security guard and I spent the night in the pokey. This is why I haven't posted since 8pm last night, just got out, just got home.

I went to jail over the NFL draft, time for a reality check for me.

I'd like to see us draft at least one guy for the secondary.

great post ima. I've seen some of Mario's games, there were times I was very impressed and other times he just looked average. I'm anxious to see what he can do on the next level. If he actually turns into a dominant pass rusher, then I can't argue the pick no matter how good Reggie is.
