Steve Nash at least made Terry work his butt off on the defensive end trying to keep up with him. With Jason Williams and Gary Payton, Terry basically only has to play on one side of the court.
The biggest problem with the suns series for Jason was that Avery was constantly telling him to slow it up. Now they are back to speed it up and take open shots. Jason and a lot of folks passed up open shots against the suns because they feared the fastbreak. The mavs surely will not fear the heat's fastbreak at all. So they can push it a little bit more and jason can be more aggressive. He can just go ahead and take shots when open, not after having to milk the clock for 20seconds.
The mavs looked decent and I expect Dirk to have a monster game tomorrow...I do see miami doing better, but not enough to win...It sucks the game is on so late...WTF
GO HEAT... hope Mark Cuban wears one of those extra tight shirts again like he often does so he can look like the typical Dallas douchebag
I'll give Dallas this... their entire arena setup, their pyrotechinics, and the way it all looks on TV is pretty damn impressive (much more so than the Toyota Center... which is 3 years newer). Then again, it doesn't suprise me that Dallas would worry about "image" more than any other aspect.
I dunno - they've done pretty well at the substance aspect too. Much as we may not like to hear it, the Mavs are pretty much a model franchise for success in the NBA both on and off the court right now.
Yea... no kidding... he looks OLD. Yet, the media won't aknowledge that at Shaq's age, Hakeem was in his prime... playing better than ever. After this year, I don't want to hear the whole "Shaq is the best center in the world" crap... I'm not saying he shouldn't be honored for his past success, but don't portray the guy as ultra-dominant still, when he's barely a shell of his former self.
considering harris reached in also, did they really have to give nowitzki his second foul on that layup? where's the star treatment?
Shaq's problem will be Yao's problem too. Shaq is slow because he is old, Yao is slow because he is too big. And NBA has become too fast for traditional centers to dictate the games. Your so called "One center & one swing man" model won't work for Rox in the near future unless they seriously upgrade their roster or find some way to move to the East.
Not true... Yao can hit FT's... and he can also make plays without having to back it in, and try to score a layup. Yao is also still mobile enough to participate in pick and rolls (which Dallas doesn't defend well, yet Miami doesn't run it b/c Shaq is too fatigued, and not a threat to shoot it). It won't be as easy for Yao now as it was 10 years ago... but he'll still be a 25-30 point guy as long as he stays out of foul trouble. Or, were you not watching the Rockets throughout the second half of this year?
i guess the memo that we need a close finals series went out or something. why don't they just give miami every single call. posey not only wasn't outside the circle but was sliding over and somehow both officials thought it was a charge instead of a 3 point play.
The sad thing is, Dallas doesn't even need the refs help right not to beat Miami. JVG would have had a heart attack with some of the execution mistakes Miami has made thus far... I guess Riley may be getting soft.
these two games have been some of the sloppiest games i've ever seen - especially on miami's side. this is the FINALS.... they should start playing like it.
LOL, Dallas can't handle Shaq and Wade, yeah right. If Shaq and Wade play like this, Heats don't even have a chance to beat Dallas. I don't like Dallas a bit, but I am glad I am at least objective.
