Wade seems so much like a Odom/Jordan combination...No doubt he will be special...

The refs are being talked about because even I as a non-Mavs fan saw issues...I don't know,..could be wrong.

Wade IS special right now. It's not a future thing.

I love how people on the Dallas boards will be saying how we're a bunch of classless assholes.

Well, I'm proud to be listed as such! I greatly dislike Dallas, Cuban, Dirk, and the Mavericks. Dallas fans that didn't exist 5 years ago will be sucking the teat of Cuban for years to come. Whine and complain at Stern and the NBA as much as you want Dallas, you won't win a championship with the likes of no-class tools Terry and Stackhouse.

What also added to that was my roommate for the summer, a HUGE Mavericks fan getting ridiculously childishly frustrated after the games, and even before preaching on how good Dirk and the Mavs were. I pointed out how much of an overrated crybaby Dirk is and the response "We'll see." Part of me would die if Dirk EVER got a championship.

I'm happy for Miami to win the championship; Wade is my favorite player in the NBA outside of TMac and Yao, plus Haslem, Zo, Posey, and JWill were phenomenal. But Payton (even with his one CLUTCH layup) and Walker didn't earn their rings (and as far as I'm concerned, the Andersons, Doleac, Simien, and Kapono haven't won a championship; in fact, instead of rings, they should be given certificates of appreciation for participation).

Even more, after attending 7 or 8 Heat 3/4 full games this past season, I'm repulsed at the thought of EVERY South Floridian "Heat fan" wearing a Wade jersey and having all tickets sold out with no one showing up for games next season when they will have NO motivation and EVEN LESS chemistry.

    But for now, CONGRATS!

and from antoher thread to sum EVERYTHING UP PERFECTLY:

    A couple of random thoughts:

*That last call by Hubie might have been one of the funniest moments EVER. He mentioned the no-call foul on Terry in passing like it wasn't even a big deal, like it was in the middle of the 1st quarter or something. What was the point of him even bringing it up?? "...and you can see he is fouled before the shot." I don't know if any of you guys caught it but I just about died laughing.

*I feel that Dallas was screwed on this call as well as the foul on Dirk. And I love that there is nothing they can do about it.

*Alonzo Mourning. I don't know the exact name of the drug, but he was on it tonite. The rage after that one block. He was definitely not in a natural state.

*Thank God Riles came to his senses and took out GP for Williams. I know GP has hit some big shots in this series, but my god, he is absolutely HORRIBLE.

*I don't understand why Dallas didn't A) pass rush Wade at halfcourt. The one time they tried it, they completely disrupted the Miami offense. The two times USC did it to Vince in the Rose Bowl, he threw it away. Why don't they keep doing it? B) hack-a-Shaq to death from 5 minutes inward to 2 minutes. He's not going to make them. Why not atleast try once?

I was just wondering what the news media would say to comfort these devastated fans. I happend to see dallas morning news quickly points out that there were worst moments in the history of sports. In NBA it was the Sixers in 77'. In NFL, it was the Oilers in 1992 lost a 35-2 lead to the Buffalos.
Just another evidence to show how deep the hatred lies between the two cities in the sports world.

I don't think Dallas got screwed on that no call. I think they caught a break. I think they would have preferred the open 3 they received to the two free throws they would have got. That's probably why Hubie mentioned it as being before the shot as if it was nothing big.

    But,

Wade got that call at the end of game 5, thus the inconsistency of the calls in the NBA.

Of course, if Dirk hits his FT in game 3, and Howard hits his 2 FTs in game 5...none of it would have mattered.

    The better...TEAM....won.

Thank you Mark Cuban for making your own team lose. All you had to do was just shut up and quit making yourself a media freak which all had distracted your team. Karma is a b****. Suck it Dallas!!

I'm so happy for that guy.

After all he's been through, and not giving up, I think he deserves this.

I never could see how some folks were saying the Heat would be lucky to win one game. I didn't necessarily think they could win the series, but I thought they were much better than people were giving them credit for.

In any case, I'm glad they got the job done. SA went out, now Dallas (after screwing us with the ref situation) gets a taste of its own medicine and also falls.

I am happy with how these playoffs turned out, all things considered. :)

So Dallas chokes the series away, dallas fans think they get screwed in the process. This could have not worked out any better.

Along the way I had to root for the Spurs, Payton, Shaq, Riles etc...But its all worth it. The Mavs are like AtM, Cards, Cubs, Jazz, Titans, etc etcs put together. I never thought I could hate a sports team this much but I do and I could not be happier.

My Dallas hate is = to my rockets love... And I dont think I'm alone on this board..

    cheers to everybody

    ;) :p :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Justice was served tonight, and for a moment, all is right in the sports world.

The wicked have been defeated and the righteous are the victors.

Die a thousands deaths, Mavericks. You classless, whining, smarmy, arrogant, bandwagoning, know-nothing losers.

Yes, I still can't get over how much the Heat wanted it. They won this championship by sheer willpower. Everybody talks about DWade's incredible performance this series, and deservingly so, but what really stood out for me in game 6 was Alonzo's desire. He was huge out there tonight. If Yao could learn to lead like Zo did tonight, we will be in great shape.

    I am VERY happy tonight.

Zo came back from the grave for a chance to get a ring. How can you not be happy for him, especially after watching his press conference (I don't even think a reporter asked a question...they just gave him the mic)?

Payton finally got a ring. He played like crap quite often, but he also hit enough big shots (Game 3 and Game 5) to contribute.

Wade matured before our very eyes.

That whiny flopping 7 foot jumpshooter was exposed as Karl Malone II. 2 points in the 4th (off free throws)? Season on the line and the Mavs are going to Stack and JT (as usual)? 37% for the series? Choked on FT's in 2 games?

I don't have to see the whiny Cuban win.

The whiny (and ru...ru...rude) coach gets outdone.

    NO TITLE FOR THE MAVS.

The Lakers look like idiots and the "Shaq needed Kobe" argument is put to rest.

Shaq plays like a mortal, so the 4th ring shouldn't be a big boost in the Shaq/Dream debate.

    All is well..........

wait, what do you mean? if shaq is playing like a mortal, why would the smart choice for the lakers be to keep him for $30M/yr instead of keep kobe in his prime for half the price? i don't think they really had any other choice, it's not like they told kobe and shaq to hate each other.

you know, im happy for payton cause he was such a rockets nemesis, but he was a player in the old school era. like horry and cassell, shows how great the players of the 90s were.
