Can someone tell Dwyane Wade that, to be a true next-MJ contestant, he needs to pull his game out from beyond the paint and actually shoot? He's been ailing from fear of taking a jumpshot moreso than the stomach virus or flue or whatever he had. Sure he's scored in the 20s the past two games, but how is he AND his teammates going to get better looks at the basket when the Mavericks know he'll never shoot and will just drive in on every possession?

I have nothing against Wade, it's just I grimace every time he gets the ball, hesistates, thinks about shooting, only to drive in that leads to:

    1. getting fouled
    2. losing the ball without a foul called
    3. turning it over haphazardly

Right now, the Mavericks will let him take it in all he wants. Mavs know that the Heat can't beat them if Wade can't connect from beyond 15 ft.

No he doesn't. Wade led his team to the ECFs in his 2nd year and the NBA Finals in his 3rd. He isn't as good as Kobe or LeBron; few would make that point. He's already had a lot more success than Tracy, even though he's not as gifted. Wade is a bonafide superduperstar. It's just that the Mavs have more talent and the Mav role-players are stepping up. At the same time, the Heat role players stink! Wade is trying to do too much but the Mavs are a buzzsaw right now.

Before the series, I gave the Heat a big edge in team chemistry, which is why I picked them to win despite Dallas having more talent and depth. The opposite has happened and it makes for an ugly mismatch. The Mavs used the time off after beating the Suns to their advantage. Congrats to Avery Johnson. It isn't over yet by a longshot, but he's got his team peaking at the right time. This isn't the same team that played the Suns.

This just shows how inferior the eastern conference is.
    Heat is just a joke.

This is terrible. The Mavs are looking like they are going to win a championship. I think I'm going to vomit. :(

Actually, it is. The Heat just aren’t that great a team. If the Suns were in the finals right now, they would be wiping the floor with Miami.

Call me stupid but I think Wade is trying to do too little right now. He's not aggressive at all. He literally ran through the Pistons at will and, for some reason, he's not doing it with the Mavs. Maybe it's because Howard is taller and stronger than Rip or Billups. I don't know what it is. He'll get to the foul line, but those drives of his (in this series) seems so forced and not aggressive. And then the TOs. Like I said, I wished he would step up and knock down some jumpers..especially early in the game. That sets the tone and have Avery and Co. thinking "ok this kid is going to try and shoot us out tonight. Lets play up on him". This would only make it easier on Wade since 1. he gets MJ-esque ref treatment and 2. an overly aggressive D would send him to the foul line even more.

Tuesday is the pivotal game in the series; it could be the turnaround pt. for the Heat if they have a big game, BUT if Dallas wins: game, set, match, the party is over.

I think if the Suns were in the Finals instead of Dallas, it would be even uglier. The Heat are just not that great.

Isn't that what some Rox fans want for the "new" Rox team? Get an Haslem type PF, draft a spot up shooter like JJ Redick, get someone like Mourning to be the backup center and be exactly like Miami! See the result? got blown away by a speedy team! That's why Rox should draft a slasher, penetrator and defender.

Wade is a great player and my favorite non-Rocket, I love watching him play. However, there is still a BIG hole in his game, he has to develop an outside shot.

I totally agree with you but I have lost faith in this organization's ability to find the right sort of players to do what you say. My biggest fear is that they will continue trying to patch what they have with inferior players in an attempt to continue playing their current offensive style. If they do that, then next year we'll be back where we are now: watching a Dallas or San Antonio or a Phoenix win the title. And that would really suck...again...

Third if you count the Detroit Pistons "5-game sweep" two years ago. I mean, if Larry Brown doesn't act like a complete moron and has his team intentionally foul Kobe before he gets off that 3-pointer, the series is over in 4 games.

Although ironically Shaq was one of the only Fakers who showed up for that Finals.

No team has come back from a 3-0 deficit so Miami must win tomorrow. Didn't hear if Haslem's shoulder is going to keep him out tomorrow, if he is out thats going to be huge, he's the only one that can defend Dirk.

If the Heat lose the Finals, wonder what Riley has in store for them. Is he going to tinker or are we going to see another blockbuster deal?

Miami wins game 3, Mavs win game 4, Miami game 5 and Mavs in 6.

At least that is what the magic 8 ball said.....

ok i think i know what u meant..if Larry Brown hadn't acted like a complete moron and had his team intentionally foul Kobe before he got off that 3-pointer, the series would have been over in 4 games.

"Now that I own the Mavs, I whine about a lot of things in the NBA, from marketing to officials, which has led to change. Changes in how games are sold and marketed, how games are presented, how some departments are organized and managed in the NBA. Thats the nice thing about whining to an organization that wants to improve. They might not always show the love, but actions can speak louder than words"..........

"Whining is the first step towards change. Its the moment when you realize something is very wrong and that you have to take the initiative to do something about it. Sure, criticism usually comes along with the territory. Who cares ?"

Got this from a blog of Mark Cubans. Admits to whining about officiating and seeing results.. Yeah that makes me sick, but I wish he was our owner.

I feel your pain. I'm surrounded by Mavs fans up here at SFA and their driving me crazy. I dont want them to win the series cause I'm gonna have to hear it for the next year. My biggest hope is that the Rockets get healthy and add some quality depth through free agency and the draft, then go after the Mavericks with extreme prejudice. This is as bad as watching Utah in the finals a few years back.
