LEE Copyright 2006 Houston Chronicle CONROE — A Texas Christian University football player was found shot to death in his car early this morning, police said. Kasey Christopher Davis, 20, had a gunshot wound in the chest when police discovered his body in the 2200 block of Montgomery Park Boulevard about 12:30 a.m. Police arrested a suspect, 40-year-old Jeffrey Clay Lasiter, about a mile from the crime scene. He is in the Montgomery County Jail on murder charges, police said. Lasiter was arrested on a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Davis about three minutes after police found the victim, thanks to witnesses' description of Lasiter's vehicle, said Conroe police spokesman Sgt. Bob Berry. Davis, a native of Conroe, was home visiting on Christmas break and to play a football game, Berry said. The TCU Horned Frogs played the Iowa State Cyclones on Saturday in the Houston Bowl at Reliant Stadium. Investigators do not have a motive in the shooting. Lasiter is being questioned. The investigation is ongoing, Berry said.
I understand TCU and ISU are not UT or ATM, however, I am still surprised how little the casual fan showed up to the game. It seems 99% percent of fans there are either TCU or ISU fans.
