Horrible shooter, but I'd take him for the vet min, like 700K for him.

Daniels is an URFA with the Mavs. There is no reason to try to "work" with the Mavs to acquire him. If we want him, we just go get him.

I say go get Mihm and Damon Jones. Damon Jones is a servicable pg out of the U of H, I think hes the best fit for the price but he hasn't really been a starter so I don't know. Jones actually has a better assist/turnover ratio than both brent barry and fisher. Another free agent center I like as a backup is Steven Hunter. Hunter and Mihm both rebound but Hunter is a better shot blocker and would probably come very cheap.

    Jones/Gaines/Wilkes
    T-Mac/Pike
    JJ/Boki
    Howard/Taylor/Spoon
    Yao/Mihm or Hunter

Daniels is restricted so we would have to make an offer Cuban wouldn't match.

Nope, he is unrestricted. Further, he had only a 1 year deal last year, the Mavs have no special exemptions to sign him over any other team in the league. Even if allowed (not sure it is), I don't see any team S&T for Daniels when they can approch him directly.

The Mavs also got a PG with the #5 pick (Harris) and picked up a SG. My bet is Daniels sign's elsewhere unless Nash is moved.

It all depends on Nash, if he stays , mavs will probaly let daniels go cheap!. but he gets traded, then daniels becomes a pretty integral part of there team!

I agree that Knight is a very good player and would make a solid backup. He was very impressive back when he was with cleveland. His passing isn't the only thing that impresses me, he is one of the best theives in the league. He has a nose for the ball and will pick your pocket in an instant with his speed.

Isn't Gaines now out of the deal? And Lue is missing.

    Adrian Griffin is also MIA.

Rox can do a lot worst than Mihm and Jones.

The deal switches so much that I just figured if Gaines is in the deal I think he should be the backup if not we should pick up another guard like Brevin Knight. I was assuming that Lue would opt out of his contract and we would not re-sign him. I forgot about Griffin. Its hard to remember a player who was injured and never received much pt. He would still be at the end of the bench.

The only way we could get rid of Moochie was to take on Spoon's contract...

I don't think it is wise to spend MLE or more to chase a backup C. It is a waste of money to pay starter salary for backup service.

I would spend the MLE to get Barry, and then figure out a way to use the TE money. It would be nice to move Spoon, it may be doable due to his short contract.
