reading the dan langhi bit in the GARM got me to look at the 2000 draft class. and i must say, this may be THE worst NBA draft i've seen. just awful.

    take a look.

besides michael redd, who i consider a lower tier superstar, there's not a single player that you would build a team around. look at the 1st rounders. god awful.

this must be the worst team if you played by draft classes in NBA2k series..

Yeah it was bad but there are some slid players in there.... By no means big superstars!

like you said redd is the one closest to superstardom

    Solid players:

    mike miller
    joel pryzbilla
    jamal crawford
    desmon mason
    kenyon martin
    jamal maggloire
    eddie house
    hedo turkaglu

    spot minute guys:
    yakuba diawara
    malik allen
    eduardo najara
    keyon duling

Other than that not very much there....good find....."The year of the role players"!!!

THe only player on that list who I think still has alot of good basketball left is Hedo. He had a break out year last year, he is one of the only players on that list who has gotten better every year.

It's bad... but for me, the title will always belong to the drug-addled class of 1986, where you had no superstar and more good players come out of the 2nd and 3rd rounds than the 1st.

That is funny out of all the crapy players in draft we actually pick 2 of the better players in it and then trade them for garbage (rip jason)

Add Mo Pete to the solid player list.

I remember that draft well and at the time a lot of 1999ers were intrigued/wanted Dermarr Johnson. Too bad for his injury and not being able to pan out.

The hype around Stromile Swift and Kenyon Martin (before blowing his knee the first time) coming out of college was incredible.

    And the best: 2003

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_NBA_Draft

just look at the second round: Kapono, Jason, Luke Walton, Szymon Szewczyk, Blake Steve, Bogans Keith, Kyle Korver, ...

other than the 4 superstars, there are West/Howord/Ford/Hinrich/Kaman ...

LOL @ Carl Lewis being drafted by the Bulls in the 10th round in 1984. I vaguely remember hearing about that.

He was also drafted by the Cowboys in the 12th round of the NFL draft.

When Kenyon Martin, Stromile Swift, and Darius Miles are the #1, #2, #3 picks, you know how that class is defined by overhype athleticism without brain.
