HAhahahaha Drexel is the uglest campus. they share the same campus of UPenn. i live about 20 blocks down. its pretty ugly. the area was alot worse when i was growing up. hookers, drug addicts, and porno theathers.
I think they should outlaw the color brown or beige for school buildings. It looks like someone took a dump and decided to make a building out of it. More ugly buildings of UH: Moody Towers more like Crappy Mood Towers Hilton College You would think that for a Hilton, the building would be a little bit nicer from the outside. It's actually pretty nice form the inside, but you would never be able to tell looking at it from outside. I heard they just got a good lump of money to beautify UH. Anyone know if there's any truth in this??
I'm surprised UTSA didn't make this list... maybe not expressly ugly, but utilitarian, all built on one big concrete slab. New, very little vegetation, a few token art objects but not many, and people who come there, get their work done, and leave. No morale. (or maybe I'm just bitter because I go there... it's OK but you don't really get a sense of wanting to be there) There is also a small college in Abilene, can't remember its name right now, that's about the ugliest campus I've ever seen.
The campus is pretty nice from inside. It's a quarter mile from a refinery and a rock-crushing plant borders it, but the campus itself looks nice. Certainly nicer than UH for example.
I'm surprised some Big Ten schools didn't make the list. A lot U of MN is pretty damn ugly and the crappy weather doesn't help. Michigan, Northwestern, Iowa aren't much better although Wisconsit was pretty nice. While the student body is good looking I thought most of USC's campus was pretty damn ugly and looked more like a tech school than an expensive private school. One thing I've noticed too is that architecture schools tend to be the ugliest buildings on campus. Wurster Hall at Cal Rapson hall at U of MN every hallway looks like this. The Yale Architecture Building. This building was so despised that students once set fire to it.
I really don't see how this list matters unless the writer spent at least one day each at every major college campus.
Ugliest building on the UT campus: ENS (Electrical Engineering building). The inside is worse, with the blue tiles.
drexel is pretty bad. penn on campus is actually ok. Nice cobblestone walkways, some interesting, cool old architecture. but west philly is obviously west philly.....where the fresh prince was born and raised!
no, im on the west coast trying to finish my undergrad degree. Im thinking about moving back to philly and applying to penn
I went to A&M, and while I don't think its the most beautiful campus around, I disagree that it should be on this list. I do agree that it could use a little color other than the same brown used for 80% of the buildings, but there are some pretty great parts of campus with the huge Oak trees, nice buildings with older architecture, and nice green spaces. Its problem may that its such a large campus, it is just as easy to find a semi ugly part of campus as it is to find the nice part of campus.
