The COMM building beats it IMO. I think it's one of the most neglected building. Am I the only one who thinks the old engineer lab building should be torn down??
A&M has some strange buildings, the Administrative and the Animal Industries buildings in particular I remember thinking were strange inside or out. Other buildings were nice though, such as Wehner and most of West Campus, as well as the Bush School and the new engineering building off of University.
No kidding. Never when I was an undergrad at A&M did I ever look around campus and say "what a dump." I sure as hell did when I was in law school at UH.
Oh god, I forgot about that awful engineering shed Comm is pretty bad, and it looks worse because it's flanked by Architecture and Moores, which are among the nicer buildings on campus. Also, I haven't been in there since freshman year (for drafting), but the old technology building is atrocious inside. Honestly, the biggest blight on campus is the torn-up grass along sidewalks, from the idiot staff who can't drive their cushmans. The sidewalks get muddy when it rains, just because there's so much exposed dirt around them
No kidding. We both did. The school is largely underground. At least the common areas and the library are. That last summer that I was there doubling down on classes to graduate early...I had no idea if it was sunny or rainy most of the time. It was like a fallout shelter.
UT Austin has got to be on this list, also. Complete hodge-podge of buildings, many looking like soviet bomb shelters The only good thing on that campus is the tower, which was designed by a Rice guy
Haha, as a Carnegie Mellon grad, I was expecting to see it on the list. In some areas, it's a really beautiful campus, and some buildings are particularly nice looking (Hamerschlag, Baker) but Wean is so bad it destroys all of that. And to add insult to injury, it's the most prominent building on campus from a distance. If you stand by the Fine Arts building and look down the mall, you get a beautiful view of Oakland . . . but look to the left, and there's the awful Hunt library. I don't know that it's deserving of #5, but it's definitely not the sort of campus that makes you want to go there . . . Wean: The Mall: I'd throw University of Missouri-Rolla in the mix. My brother went there for a year, and it's the only campus I know of that has a working coal power plant and a working nuclear reactor. There is nothing redeeming about the campus . . . it's pretty unsightly.
UH is way crappier than TAMU. Allow me to introduce the Y-Building 571. Engineering labs. Thats right the labs of the richest college on campus. y building y don;t they paint it y don;t they tear it down. by the way this picture looks to have been taken about 10 years ago.
When was the last time you were at UT Austin? We've got some really nice buildings. The only ones that I can think of that are sort of shabby are the RLM building and Burdine. And, of course, Jester.
Someone told me it has some sort of WWII related historical value. But yeah, that place needs to be torn down.
Lists like these are impossible to make...because it's impossible to visit every campus. For me, the ugliest campus I've been to is Southern Arkansas University. It's really, really, reaalllly ugly...and is surrounded by chicken coops that make the entire place smell terrible.
All my good friends hung out there since they were engineering majors. Yes it has some historic value to it. Apparently during one of the wars it was used to build tank parts or something to that nature. It's right smack damn by the Business school and the UC...it was a damn eye sore.
CUNY Hunter's facilities are pretty bad. Especially compared to CUNY Baruch's Vertical Campus (which is pretty amazing by the way). I feel like Hunter is not maintained well.. Source: I took classes at Hunter in the spring and am taking classes at Baruch this fall.
Thats crap, no one hates UT more than I do. I would rather eat a barrel of past prime Fecal matter than watch UT win a game. If UT lost a game 93-0 I would be angry that the other team didn't go for it on 4th down to make it an even 100.
