Serious question.....how many of you out there that are employed get Christmas Bonuses? What do you get? All we got this year was a lame "company Xmas" party. But per person we didn't get anything. I am just curious to see how we compare with others.
My friend got a fat Christmas bonus last year, in cash. He just put the envelope in the living room and takes 5 or 10 bucks whenever he needed it for a meal or something...He still has some left...
I got a huge Christmas bonus (in my eyes) this year (along with additional quarterly bonuses). Shock of shocks, it was bigger than my Dad's... who's gotten fat bonuses his entire life as an Engineer. But of course, I worked my ASS off to get those bonuses (plus I feel I'm underpaid anyways) So it all evened out.
That's not right. We don't even have a Christmas party this year. My bonus is that I'm still employed.
Mine was a Christmas lunch to be eaten at an available conference room or your desk. Bring your own desert. Oh and they ran out of turkey for the last 50+ folks.
Me and my mother work for the same company. I've been here 8 months and received a $255 Christmas bonus. My mother has been here a year and a half and received a little over $1,000.
Oh yeah, we also had a spectacular Christmas party that was fully catered and full of prizes. I won a $25 gift certificate to Ruby Tuesday. My girlfriend works at a daycare and receives a $25 bonus.
I honestly don't know if I get a bonus - most likely no...but my wife gets one...hers will be higher than the thread title.
That is so awesome...Good for them...I can't remember ever hearing about anyone receiving a x-mas bonus, let alone a bonus period...My company didn't pay bonus' last year and this year their suppose to, but I'll be waiting and seeing...
No bonus for me. But we are having a luncheon tomorrow....that we have to pay 7.50 to attend ...with cold bbq...brought in by the bosses husbands catering company.... CONFLICT OF INTEREST
holy crap...really?? I'm starting to feel like Mother Theresa over here...keep these awful stories coming!!!
The CEO of the company I was "downsized" from in October got a $12,000,000 bonus. But I'm not bitter... My wife got a very nice one! Not as much as rimmy's, but close to the thread title. So Max, was it a good year to be a lawyer?
we had a very good year...we were really blessed...and we have awesome people who work with us who helped make it happen. work has to be about more than just making money. in many ways, my partner and i consider it a ministry to those whom we employ.
We did get bonuses, but they were in January or February and they were "linked" to the bottom line of the company.... Great news for us this year, company ain't cutting the mustard and next year there will only be performance bonuses. No more yearly bonuses. Wow, thanks a bunch! Oh and we do get a great xmas part with a free 2 drink coupon...
Here's another one. My company is changing pay periods for the new year. Just switching the weeks around. This means that we got a full paycheck last week like normal, then we get a 1/2 paycheck this week and the other 1/2 next week. So management is going around telling people "remember, you get your christmas bonus this week!!" Hello? We're not getting any more money than usual, it's just split in 2. I swear the movie Office Space was based on my office. Seriously, I'm glad to have a job after reading about all these people getting laid off lately.
I used to work for a place that gave rock hard frozen turkeys on Christmas Eve. It would take almost a week to thaw that thing out so you either had a New Years turkey dinner or you had to store that bird for a year. If those in charge had received one of those "bonuses" like the rest of us, they might have seen the errors of their ways and corrected the problem. They instead became the butt of many of Christmas spirit jokes.
