Two years from now when Howard's broken down ass has no game because his athleticism is gone I'm goi g to laugh at all of y'all. He is steve Francis all over again as his physical abilities dwindle so will his game. Meanwhile Asik is only just scratching the surface of his potential in his first year as a starter. He's only going to get better with experience. And he's going to do it without having to dominate the ball and causing drama. So laugh now but two years from now Asik will be a top 3 or 4 C while Howard will be destroying some teams salary cap and acting like he is still the best even though his game will be gone.
It's without a doubt Dwight. A VERY good game for Asik is something around 18 points and 15 rebounds. That's an average game for Dwight (when healthy, which he's quickly getting).
The question is "two years from now". Once Dwight loses his athleticism he will be worthless. Just like TMac and Francis.
You know what he meant don't nitpick. There are players that rely less on athleticism than others. Dwight has a pitiful offensive skill set and even his defensive presence is heavily predicated on athleticism a lot more than say a KG or Tim Duncan.
Right? Let me know when we are talking about Howard in relation to the two first ballot HOFs you just listed.
doesnt matter...in 2 years asik will be anchoring a rockets team that will be battling for the top seed in the west...howard will be getting bullied by kobe as they struggle to make the 8th seed...kinda like now actually!
I mean Howard will be better but what would you rather have.. Max Howard? or 8mil/year Asik? with Asik you have about 9 million for another very solid starter or a couple of very solid players... I'd go with Asik when you take all factors into effect.
Depends completely on the team they'll be playing on. If Howard comes to Houston (even at 75% healthy) he'll be playing at a higher level than Asik if he ends up being traded to a team which doesn't utilize the bigs. But if Howard stays, Asik will continue to put up double doubles (with increased offensive game) in the Rockets system. I don't see Howard ever being the 'go to guy' while he's in LA. He won't play anywhere near the level he played in his prime at Orlando.
This. If we had Howard, would we still have room for a third star? Asik + star > Howard + role player
