I really think that Tech is just an awesome team. No disrespect to OSU, but Tech seems like a team of destiny this year. Gonna be a great game to watch next week.

Its unreal how good their O-line is. All of their starters look like NFL.

Wow I'm totally disgusted by the way we played tonight. We had the momentum from the very beginning but obviously our D is still too young and inexperienced to handle a juggernaut offense like Tech's. Give all the credit to them, especially Ruffin McMeal for preparing his defense once again.

    Good game.

I'm gonna go cry myself to sleep now.

Texas will now need a miracle to make the NC Game. Two potential routes (neither particularly likely):

#1: OU beats Tech and OSU, creating a 3-way tie break. Somehow, Texas wins that - I don't see how that's possible though. OU will have a solid advantage in the polls and should catch up in the computers with those wins.

#2: Tech beats OU, putting Texas at #4 in the BCS behind Tech/Alabama/Florida. Alabama or Florida get eliminated in the SEC Title game, and then Tech loses to Missouri in the B12 Championship game. That puts us in position, unless they leap someone else over us (USC?) for not winning our conference. Though USC actually doesn't control their own destiny - if Oregon State wins out, they win the Pac10.

Neither is a remotely likely scenario, but those are the only two ways Texas has a chance. The door is wide open for Tech and OU - both control their own destiny going forward. If either wins out, they are in the national title game (barring fluke scenario #1).

Another thing: Harrell is the calmest QB in the pocket I have ever seen.

Too bad he's a douce***. Crabtree is the best WR no doubt, but he can't complete a coherent sentence. (I dreamed it!!)

Oh - Scenario #2 could also work with OU beating Tech and OSU and then losing in the B12 Championship game to Missouri.

I guess they're just not men.

J/K I like OSU, but when you live in Lubbock, what can you do? Go tech.

After today, their season now rides on beating OU in the final game. If they do, 10-2 is a good year. But if they lose, finishing 9-3 after starting 7-0 could feel like down year.

Tech once again looked very good....I do not expect them to go into Norman and beat the Sooners, but if they do, no question the are a top 2 team. If they can get away with playing their 2 safeties as deep as they have been playing them, I give them a shot, but OU has the best OL in football and I expect they will have to adjust and bring one of those guys up to help stop the run.

The Tech offense is ridiculous....they have been very good for years, but this bunch is easily the best....Harrell may not translate to upper tier NFL QB (who am I to know, maybe he is) but with this team's makeup, he is so damn composed.

As great as things are for Techfan right now, you have to hope they run the table this year, as I'm guessing Leach will be offered sick money at a higher profile gig.

It's a shame we have to wait 2 weeks for OU/TT...but it will be a great battle.

is there anyway tech and Texas play for the nc? Is there a rule that states the top teams have to be from different conferences?

When there is no pressure, it is pretty easy to be calm.

Are you sure Major? They were talking on the radio on Monday about how UT could still make the NC game and TT had to lose 2 games since they hold the tie breaker with us.

Loved the crowd in Lubbock tonight! It was LOUD!

Looking forward to watching College Football Final. Lou Holtz, Mark May, Beano Cook all picked OSU to be beat Tech.

Keep the dream season alive! OU game will be more than tough.

    Wreck 'em!

The TT losing two games ended today. That was the easiest route for Texas to make the B12 Championship game and then, assuming they win that, make the NC game. That was the direct, straightforward route. Tech beating OSU eliminated that though.

Without that route, the only remaining routes take some weird things happening, but it's still possible. However it plays out, Texas will be the 2nd highest ranking B12 South Team - then if the top one loses in the B12 Title game, that opens some doors. Penn State losing was a necessity. An SEC team will eliminate itself in the SEC Title Game. So assuming either Florida or Alabama makes it, the remaining possibilities for the national championship opponent are:

Texas Tech (if they win out)
    OU (if they win out)
    Texas
    USC

I don't see any other contenders out there. Texas and USC are only possibilities if Missouri knocks off the B12 South champion. Between Texas and USC , the computers would have Texas ahead, but the pollsters might push them down for not winning their conference. It might also depend on style points and how dominant the teams look down the stretch (USC didn't help itself today).

I am not totally familiar with the ins and outs of the BCS. Say Tech loses to OU by 14, that leaves 3 teams tied. Why wouldn't Texas emerge as the favorite of those 3? Wouldn't the fact that Texas played Tech away be factored in? If Texas is ranked ahead of Oklahoma, when would Oklahoma ever switch that as long as Texas owns the tiebreak?
