Wondering if there is an option to trade 23 or 24 for Pelicans 34 & 40(or 43).

I think I'd be interested in that. Get Greg Brown lower & take a flyer on someone else.

I'm fine with 4 rookies next year.
Seems like a deep draft class.
And we are going to suck next year anyways.
Giving the younguns some minutes & see what we have seems the correct play.

I'm big on trying to trade Gordon & Wall (and buyout Wall for $70 mill if nothing is there).

Give the keys to Porter Tate Wood MartinJr & the rookies.

    LOL

There is a reason Mobley is considered best at his position and even worthy of being picked first overall.

No one saying that about Sharpe.

Only area that Sharpe is better is rebounding.

Their scoring average is nearly identical but Mobley is CLEARLY the more efficient offensive player with more advanced guard skills.

Mobley is not just elite rim protector, he is able to switch everything while not fouling.

The ability to defend at elite level while not fouling is unfathomable.

And their is no advanced stat that Sharpe is better than Mobley.

    Your comparison is silly.

We and anyone who had wall's contract on the books would all be big on trying to trade him, problem is that likely means giving up assets like picks to do so. As you said, we're probably going to suck next year, getting rookies, assets or any talent we can is important just to move further, the best wall would do is save us some money, he is fine in tank mode as we saw he can be the tank commander at times. We couldn't have had some of those losses without the tank mvp. So I'm for saying by to him or gordon, I'm unwilling to lose an asset to do so as it really doesn't benefit our outlook. we spent 3 years saving tilman money, he won't hve to spend big anymore, I'm not saving him in these contracts when thats all we got from the harden trade, hope in picks/assets.

If Cade or Green is our top 4 pick, then need to take either Kai Jones, Isaiah Jackson or Greg Brown with 1 of the 2 late FRP.

Rockets need more lengthy switchable defenders.

Not only bouncy long versatile rim protectors but all 3 play with crazy energy and will increase pace.

If Jones adds some hard muscle and improves his ball handling, I might consider him. He doesn't look coordinated while bringing the ball up unlike the more raw Brown. I like Jackson, but he needs to be more than a shot blocker on defense.

Wall trade is only to save cap space and not give up assets.

Gordon I'm happy to do a Gordon for Horford trade.

That leaves us with no cap space this year or next(unless there are buyouts with players leaving money on the table). But that opens up the cap in the 3rd year. When we are hopeful looking to compete with Cade in his 3rd year. (Maybe too optimistic but that's the hope).

We should also have plenty of draft picks to make the right trade to surround Wood Cade & Porter.

Greg Brown may be the more physical, to the point of violent, player but Kai Jones is more skilled.

Jones not only better ball handler but he is better passer, better shooter and more disruptive AND consistent defender.

I like Brown too, but he is the most raw of the 3 players and is the least coachable.

Or maybe Shaka Smart just sucks as a HC.

As for Jackson, he reminds of a young Clint Capela, but more explosive.

Would love 6'9 point forward Jalen Johnson if Rockets draft Mobley instead of Cade.

Giddey is better point, but Johnson is the much better defender.

Rockets MUST get better on defense.

Agreed. If I'm stone I'm looking at Trey Murphy and Charles Bassey at 23 & 24. Murphy is 6'9''/205 with a 7'1'' wingspan. Perfect 3&D guy who can guard 1-4. Bassey at 6'11''/235 with a 7'3'' wingspan would be a great depth piece up front who can provide rebounding and rim protection. Let him spend time with Hakeem and see what Dream can do with the tools Bassey has on the defensive end.

Gordon’s final year is non guaranteed. So he is locked in the same years as Horford, but due $7mm/year less.

Ego’s contract is fine, y’all. When he comes back and is healthy for a minute, we could trade him for (modest) value. Look at all the clowns making more than $16mm per year...if he was a free agent, he’d probably be signed for a similar contract. I get that people are freaked out about the fact that he doesn’t fit our rebuild timeline, but let’s not lobby to throw away a good player on a good deal for trash, folks.

    That's awesome News.
Makes his contract a lot more tradable.

And Eric when healthy is a good player on a fair deal.

Wow now I feel like we might even get assets thrown in for him.

Sarcasm received and acknowledged, but you were the one out here advocating to trade Ego for a washed, older player on a more expensive contract that is the same length.

There is a stat that says Sharpe will have a better rookie season than Mobley. You just keep looking over it because of the hype.
    Mobley= 210 lbs
    Sharpe = 265 lbs
Dont get caught up in the hype. Mobley will not be doing any of that his 1st 2-3 years. Sharpe will hit the floor running. Mobley is not worth a top 4 pick.

Your observation about Jackson is right on the money. Jalen Johnson is not only a better defender than Giddey, he is a much more talented scorer than him too. Kai definitely is more skilled than Brown. I want to see more improvement in the combine and in the workouts. Brown is a wild card, it will him a long time to get better. Will he put in the effort? I don't know. My gut feeling is yes, but he does appear to carry a sense of entitlement. I could be wrong. I'm not entirely opposed to choosing him as the 24th pick.

    Legit wasn't sarcasm

I thought it was 3 years
One less year makes it more tradable. I feel like we could even ask for a young player thrown in(if Eric has no injuries through 2021/22 season)

I think Greg Brown's HS coach got more out of him than Shaka Smart did at UT.

    Same HS coach as Cade.

He certainly looked happier at HS. Thanks.

Jalen Johnson and Greg Brown are the two 4's that fit Rockets needs the best IMO.
