AG already said he didnt want to play for a rebuilding franchise at the deadline .he wants to contend
2021 Jared Butler, kind of reminds me of less athletic 2005 Rashad McCants who went #14 overall. They had similar stats. Both shoot same high volume high efficiency 3 pointers. Also both won NCAA championships. McCants had an Ok career but it was cut short. Only 4 years in the NBA. Not sure why. Hope that Butler will have a better career if he joins the Rockets.
I am guessing he meant to type or was autocorrected from Butler. I like the idea of Butler (maybe a ceiling of a slightly larger Kemba Walker?) but I am just not sold on him. I guess I worry a little bit that he is an "intangible guy" and I am not sure that those ever pan out the way they are expected to. I prefer Springer and Ziaire Williams if either are available. Springer, I think, has a floor as a pit bull defender with an outside shot that will prevent him being left alone and Williams has one of the higher ceilings in the draft as a 2 way wing (IMO his ceiling is a Tayshaun Prince/Paul George hybrid). I am probably a little more willing to bet on Springer surpassing his floor than Williams reaching his ceiling at this point.
This is the draft to add picks or even package picks/players to move up. Draft is deep even into the end of 2nd round. https://www.forbes.com/sites/morten...round-picks-in-the-nba-draft/?sh=5cc796f324c0
2nd round is going to be nice. Need to buy or trade for SRP - House, Augustin, Bradley, et. al. Best way to Tank for 2022.
I think we'll all sleep better after the lottery .... tho if we end up with 18 we'll have drank ourselves to sleep.
Absolutely not. Mobley might become the better defender but if you don’t think Garuba is by far the best defender then you haven’t watched enough of his tape. Which I feel bad saying since it’s clear you know your prospects. He’s draymond. It’s almost savant like the way the kid plays defense. Switch PNR isn’t the be all end all defensive scheme. It’s the most useful but you want a defender who can run every action in case you need it. The areas Garuba lacked where Barnes and Mobley have him beat were offensively. He shot ateociously with bad ft% as well. He started showing out a bit from a scoring perspective at the end of his season. His short roll decision making was always more than adequate though. Anyways if you think any player in this draft is better defensively you need to watch his tape more than you have.
