Best beach in Florida I found was in the Gulf Shores National Seashore between Navar beach and Pensicola. Deserted and beautiful. I do love a good beach.

I'm not confident enough to drive around the south w/ my minority butt, but there's some rich history there to witness.

Prob also places where history won't let go, but that's part of the adventure.

Who wants a lapdance...in a VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!?!

Hmm, I don't have any particular recommendations, but maybe pick a theme of something to do on the trip, and let that guide you. Like visiting a bunch of baseball stadiums in an area. Or eating all the different types of barbecue in the South. Or going to see a bunch of different natural wonders in the West. Or climb a variety of peaks in the Rockies. Whatever tickles you.

You set a goal to do this backbone of things, but everything in between is up to you. So, you've got some goals to keep you oriented and also plenty of leeway to experience those things you'd never be able to plan for as you go from place to place. Make sure you've got a camera and extra batteries for it, because you'll take a lot of pics.

No offense but this is garbage. Have some self-respect OP, treat yourself to a Starbucks parking lot. Way more classy.

Make sure to check the latest cell coverage maps before you go. Coverage can be very spotty in the mountain west.

If it were me, I'd start in Yellowstone, head up to Glacier National Park, then on to Banff, down to Vancouver/Seattle, follow the Pacific coast south, inland to Portland, back to the coast, down to San Francisco, over to Yosemite and down through Sequoia National Park and end in Vegas. Other than Las Vegas, I've seen none of that. Not sure 2 months would be enough to do it right.

I second this. Getting up to the Pacific NW is great.

I have to start in Austin. That's where I'm leaving from, where I'm going is the question. Thanks for the suggestions. I do love the PNW and Northern California.

Probably the most important tip here.

Weekends to move around ..more populated during week for work.

I would consider hawaii but that means no van.

Wait are you that guy in the van down by the river?

All this sounds right up my ally. I just watched something and saw Meow Wolf on TV. I'm glad you reminded me. I think it's high on my list of destinations.
