I'm thinking of a dark horse additions..for the forward spot, either McCarty or Baxter/of course Sprewell could back up Tmac...for the PG spot, I still can't think of someone whom we can trade for ;)

Getting an athletic energy guy like Wallace for scrap would be way too good to be true. Though imaging stretches of games with James, Anderson, Wallace, McGrady, and Swift on the court at the same time just makes me light headed.

Considering CD doesn't even regard Baker and Ward as players, I don't think other GMs will take them.

Looks like our 2 for 1 deal might still be on the wings...

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2141336

Even with all the changes, the Rockets might not be finished upgrading the team yet. Some talk had free agent Latrell Sprewell as another possible addition in Houston.

With this recent move, the Rockets cannot afford to simply sign the 13-year veteran. But Sprewell could still come to Houston in a speculated, but unsubstantiated, sign-and-trade deal with Minnesota.

Dawson did not comment on Sprewell directly but did say the team remains open to more changes.

"If we can help our team we'll add someone else," he said. "We're always looking to help our team."

Sprewell's agent said several teams are options for the player, but that he has expressed interest in Houston and playing for his former coach.

"Latrell loves Van Gundy," agent Robert Gist said. "He respects Van Gundy as a coach. He has spoken to Van Gundy."

Gist said he has not been in any talks about a possible sign-and-trade deal with Minnesota, but said that such a deal would be virtually the only way the Rockets could sign Sprewell.

"I think that the Rockets are a Sprewell away from reaching the NBA Finals," Gist said.

NO MO SPREE TALK! We already got Anderson, 6'5" like Spree, and better 3pt shooting. 'Nuff said!

Wesley has the money - save him to move until the deadline, with James. That's two talented bench players for an upgrade from a team with excess, a draft pick that needs to start, or a need. We can package with our pick next year - we won't need it.

Right now - we can move Baker and Ward and Moochie as expiring for Spree or or whatever is available now, as agents start to count the days.

Bubble throw-ins are Howard and Sura, depending on talent back.

Indeed.. now we need a backup for Mac, and Wallace would be a very nice player for that role.

I think the '2 for 1' is really code for '2 for won'. That's right, we are going to trade moochie and ward for 1 korean won.

1.00 KRW South Korea Won = 0.000972648 USD United States Dollars

I think if we take that won and put it into a good mutual fund or something and have it grow close to .00134321532 USD after three years, then our investment should pay off.

Perhaps we can use the won to sign Spree? He needs to follow this theme of players taking less, anyways.

What's the deal with Gerald Wallace anyways? Am I missing something or has Bickerstaff shown little to no interest in giving ANY indication of wanting to keep him?

I know he's restricted, which in some cases limits the flexibility any potential suitors have, but this guy is young & promising, why so little interest?

I agree. It's like what Clutch said in his Sprewell profile about this:

"There is not likely to be a long list of suitors and don't look for the Timberwolves to bring flowers to his door, but they wouldn't mind something for the trouble. A trade of a signed Sprewell for Wesley, who has one year remaining on his deal, could appeal to Minnesota, but would it be a lateral move or downgrade for Houston? If not on the floor then off it, and would Van Gundy take that risk? Time will tell, but if he wanted size defensively to the point of potentially sacrificing chemistry, you have to wonder why he gave it up in Jim Jackson to get Wesley in the first place."

I have a bad feeling Juwon is in for permanent health problems.

We would need to target a competent bench guy, that we can get for guards and expirings. Wilcox? Melvin Ely? Maybe someone will shake loose later in teams that have drafted a new star player and need to dump last year's contract - like Al Harrington in Atlanta. Problem is, that guy has to be a backup here and accept that role. Hence the lower light target like Wilcox, Ely, Mikki Moore, etc.

I think you're right there pasox2...Accdg to the article, they looking for another big man.i'm just thinking if JVG is satisfied now with our PG situation?
I also hope Head will be given playing time and not just sent to the NBDL though he's not a pure PG

i agree with whoever said that the rockets shouls just wait to the trade deadline to make a move. u know how some disgruntled nba players are when their teams dont meet expectations.
