I hope that people stop addressing his Holiness as Dalai. His Holiness the Dalai Lama should be addressed as "His Holiness", "the Dalai Lama", Tenzin, or "a wolf in a monk's robe" according to Chinese government. However, he should not be addressed as "Dalai". That's like calling the Alexander the Great "the Great".

 

I agree with you to an extant.

Economic improvment and the well-being of people in particular is the most important agenda for any government that says it's for the people.

However, are economic advancement exclusive with the other improvments, such as freer religious practice, freer press, legal reform, political reforms etc. The Chinese government make them sound like they are to the people.

For instance, the former Shanghai mayor was tried behind the door and sentenced to 18 year term. I dont have problems with corrupted official going to jail, none whatsoever. But should this whole trial be more transparent to the public, and on a larger scale, how should the political system as it is in China right now not give a single person so much power to abuse to begin with, and finally should the people have a say who they want their mayors to be?
