Your signature has truth in it, any unrest like this has economic and political reasons behind it. However, it fails to address who is causing the unrest. If you look at who is participating the riot, most of them are monks, who were once the upper class of Tibet. If you know the history of Tibet, 60 years ago they were the ruling class, and they were slave owners, at least the very top of them. Since then, their status has been falling, and most of their economical and political privileges has been removed. That's why the monks has always been bitter and hostile towards the Chinese government. And that hostility has been taught and maintained through the generations. And because of their role as spiritual leaders, they have some influences on the general public. Unfortunately for the PRC, the word "monk" has always been linked to a peaceful and spiritual person. Therefore whenever it becomes police vs. monks, the police are always the bad guys.
QFT. I love how SamFisher ignore my posts and everyone elses because he cant back up his claims. that shows everyone his credibility. and I love your random postings of photoshopped pictures. you should spend ur time on photoshopping something related to the rockets, not nonsense like those.
I can only hope the Chinese soldiers in Tibet will react with less anger and vitriol when confronting peaceful protesters in the autonomous region.
fakesteve.blogspot.com Ouch caught in a lie ~ more desperation by our Nationalists no longer in China.
Yes, and that can be a quick start to the next world war. It's exactly this type of thinking in the West that has alienated so many ordinary Chinese and made the corrupt rule of the CPC still possible today. It's simple--when people feel their national interests are threatened, they back up their government even though they may not like that government that much. Think 911 and how even the extreme liberals united behind Bush, at least for a while. The best way for Tibetian people to gain greater self-rule and freedom of religion is if the Chinese society becomes a more open and democratic one. And unfortunately it will not happen if the West keeps bashing anything Chinese (read not CPC Chinese but just Chinese) and threans to boycott a non-political event like the Olympics. It will push China to the other direction that is centered around nationlism. That is a dangerous omen to world peace in the 21st century.
Well, I apologize for missing one word in my post. The point still stand though. I mean, you played the brainwashed/oppressive Chinese angle and the race card in that post, Sammy Fisher would be proud. Nahhh, Blackwater can easily be replaced by "Whitewater." The US Army would get the job done too. Just get their hands a little dirty and using the "get out of jail free card" at The Hague. Not much to it really. What does it matter? Aren't they convicted of indiscriminately killing Tibetans any ways? Hell, we've even still got the "peaceful protesters" thing going. I guess truth really is the first casualty when certain Americans take turns stepping into line to slander China.
Tick tock tick tock Sammy. I know we've been through this before, but are you gonna answer the questions or not? The time's a-wasting. How long before you prove to the whole world Chinese cultural genocide and the three million Hans in Tibet figure? And while we're at it, I know you've found Saddam's WMD's too. Lay them on the table and let's embarrass them Chinks and Ruskis who claimed there were non.
Lie? Wow. I'm sure he thought the emoticon in his post would have penetrated your thick skull. He was mistaken.
Why is time a-wasting, are you planning on fleeing the US too? Anyway - I'm waiting for you to prove the 100,000 figure. Then priority 2 is for you to explain, in bullet point fashion, the reasons that you fled China and why you stay away. Priority No. 3 is for you to post a pic of yourself on the BBS to prove that you are really chinese - I don't believe it.
They haven't been convicted of anything yet -- they have been condemned by the free world news agencies. Being critical of the situation in Tibet does not equal slander -- the world is reporting on the situation and the Chinese propaganda press releases are fooling no one but the most loyal nationalists and citizens without access to outside media.
