nice I guess you arent terribly worried about your message reaching others that might be reading and not posting huh? Kinda hard for one to read your responses for facts when you always lead off with a insult to all Americans. Surely holds my attention let me tell ya. yeah, we are all the same................just like all Chinese are the same..... right? /cue attacking post that is sure to lead with an insult.
You will make a fine secretary to the assistant regional vice counsul for political affairs some day comrade. The world needs your rigidity, it's much too frivolous out here. Hawaii? How can I possibly argue against your impeccable logic. Hong Kong is most pleased to be liberated from the British yoke and of course, Hawaii longs for the day it can return to it's glorious heyday under the House of Kalākaua. But R2, to be fair I did post a pic first. I guess Google China won't link to humorous pictures of us crackers. Graphics are just funnier. I have a great affection for Chinese political art. MFW (bottom center) Dubious celebrates saving the world from autocratic domination:
You must live in an alternate universe where among other things, inflation doesn't exist, W speaks as well as H.W., and Rafer shoots 53% from the field
If you think all Chinese aren't the same, why don't you speak out against Dubious' post? Read his post and then read my sarcastic response, reprocess the information then come back again. Actually if you read the thread, that last post of mine is the first one I've made personal attacks on anyone - with the exception of SamFisher, who's a certifiable moron - justified and instigated by non other than Dubious. Quite frankly, even if I hadn't done that, I doubt I'd change anybody's already made mind. So I'm not here to change anybody's minds. foofy's picture is indeed appropriate. And you'd make a fine Nazi one day. Zealous belief absent of the facts. Indeed. It's only dirty laundry if it's somebody else's dirty laundry. That impeccable logic would forever keep Hawaii firm in American hands. And yeah, the same Hong Kong that wasn't British territory to start, wasn't meant to be permanent and Deng and Margaret Thatcher agreed to return to China. The same Hong Kong that caused Thatcher so much distress that she slipped on the steps of the NPC. The same Hong Kong in which they had no right to elect their governor and now no right to elect their Chief Executive. Yup, that Hong Kong. Different government, same ****. I'm amused by political art of all kinds. But I'm even more amused by the conviction behind it. And your conviction makes Uncle Sam (Sammy Fisher that is) proud.
There's a lot of misinterpretation going on here. First of all, I would be the anti-nazi, I would be an anarchist or a communist if we could trust people to be fair and empathetic on their own. I believe in democratic socialist, non-religious, tolerant government. Second of all, your posts in the Bear Sterns thread lead me to believe you want to be a capitalist, not a socialist. So why do you so rigidly defend China. It's the worst of both worlds, it represses freedom of speech and allows robber barons to to exploit China's people and environment. I hammer the US everyday, we are a hypocritical, self-interested, self indulgent society of excess. Why is it so hard for you criticize the unelected suppressive government of China. It's the American Good Ol Boy network on steroids. And the people have no outlet for change. It looks like we may be able to throw out the Corporate Conservative screw-up we've had to live with for 8 years. It looks like the people of Zimbabwe may even be able to throw out Robert Mugabe with an election, Surely you see China's great lacking. And I only threw in the humorous (sarcasm) references because you are so damn serious in a forum that doesn't mean squat. We argue here just to hear ourselves speak, to exercise our egos. But when you take yourself too seriously, too self righteously, then you need to figure you probably are missing your own weaknesses. And the people of Hong Kong are no longer free to elect the representatives of their choosing. As I understand it, they are not being afforded the autonomy they were promised in the 1999 handover agreement. That my friend, is official repression.
Stop making crap. Just admit u tried to humiliate chinese here. 白种垃圾. ;„@æŒhŸ‰x)„ÈÜŒ‰A„ µŒž‰8@„ä葉p$„8⨧‰
wow...my last post in this forum.....bye bye rockets.... White trash White trash is a derogatory term with a classist component targeted at white people with low social status, poor prospects and/or low levels of education. To call someone white trash is to accuse a white person of being economically, educationally and culturally bankrupt. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_trash
oh no, foofy please don't leave the forum! We need you here, there are only 15 other chinese posters posting the same slogans repeatedly. and he has me on his ignore list, this is all so tragic.
i'd like to trade democracy( politically ) for peace and prosperity...not everyone cares about politics
ya, there are about 15 or so overseas chinese that understand english well enough. if those casual **** figure it out, this place will be mobbed.
No, the real number is 5. There's only 5 or so who gets in every negative thread about China, displaying their superior knowledge about the country and their own moral highness, horning sometime their attacking and baiting tactics, all the while padding on each other's back.
If you are going to dream Utopian dreams, why not dream you have both? You may not think you care about politics but infact, all human interaction is politics; right down to the way you interact with your family and best friends. Their are value judgements and tradeoffs made every day. So maybe you don't care about politics beyond a particular scale, but that's just a drawing an arbitrary line and limiting your perception; I'd guess because you feel it's beyond your influence. If you speak your mind, you have some influence. It may be an ant pushing against a boulder but... And, Authoritarianism has not delivered peace and prosperity to any society in the history of the planet yet. It could happen but forced order doesn't seem in any way "peaceful' to me, The most peaceful and prosperous societies I know of are democratic; Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Iceland for 1000 years. Bhutan was a peaceful authoritarian regime and guess what....it's now democratic. I wouldn't hold the US up as the ideal. Insanity runs amok here. And, I wouldn't make fun of Chinese because of their race. But I will make fun of anyone's dogma and certainty. There is no truth, there are only points of view. What appears to be the proper course of action today can be proven outlandishly wrong tomorrow. That's why you need democracy; to allow for the collective wisdom to make course corrections. China makes course corrections but it does it without any expression of the will of the governed. Can you ever trust the altruism of any political leader? Gandhi....maybe. The guys who try to run things do so they can feed their egos and and be in control of destiny. I don't want them in control of mine. ( I would trust me to control all destiny however. I would make an excellent Supreme Leader) Maybe it's just the punk in me, but I would have unrest and hardship with freewill if that's the only way I could have it. Right now I don't have that though because I was able to make the choices to live the way I want.
Had you done so in a non-demeaning way, it would simply be a divergence in opinion. You didn't. I don't "want" to be a capitalist. I am a capitalist. I'm also a descendant of aristocracy. A great uncle was a high ranking officer in the KMT, who out of patriotism, didn't flee to Taiwan. He's no longer with us, neither are the 8 siblings of one grandfather. The other grandfather lived in fear for a decade, then just as the Cultural Revolution is over and he thought he made it, the Tangshan earthquake hit. Years of stress caused him to scare to death. The Red Guard leader that looted the family during the Cultural Revolution is non other than the daughter of Liu Shaoqi, former Vice Chairman of the CCP (though Liu himself didn't make it through the Cultural Revolution, so I consider that bit of grudge settled). I also occasionally ponder the interest point that had all our properties stayed in the family, I'd be richer than Bill Gates. As far as the "Black 5 Kinds," few go as high up the list as me. So it always amused me when people tell I'm brainwashed and the plight of the Chinese people under the CCP. I'm not rigidly defending China. I am rigidly defending against a smear campaign. If it was said the condition for human rights is pretty sh1tty in China, I would agree. If it was said by Tibetans have restricted personal and religious freedom, I would also agree. But it was not so. It was claimed that the protest was peaceful, I proved that false. It was claimed that the CCP was trying to overwhelm the Tibetans through immigration, I cast doubt upon that. I'm still waiting for the source of SamFisher's claim that there are 3 million ethnic Hans in Tibet, higher than the official population. It was not forthcoming. It never is with Sammy, whose agenda against China is clear for all to see. As I've stated already, I am all in favour of democratic process if it strengthens China's rule of law while maintaining stability. More often then not though, the term is merely used by western governments as a tool to achieve certain geopolitical goals, so you'll have to excuse the Chinese for being a little skeptic. Democracy, but not puppet state. Self righteous? Hardly. As I've stated again and again, China is in Tibet for China's interests. Not being a hypocrite, I have no problems saying it. And taking the discussions here seriously? Hardly. Also as I've said in my last reply to R2K, nobody has ever managed to change anybody else's minds on these boards. Those that came in those threads already had their minds made up. I'm here to give Sammy the finger, metaphorically, when he invariably start flame threads. Then you would be wrong. I think there had been a slight back slide in the situation when China regained possession, but that situation had stabilized. No longer free to elect the representatives of their choosing would be simply false.
well, pretty much everyone in china can trace their ancestor to some sort of kings/queens sometimes in the past. for the last Qing dynasty, there are a bunch of them left. except that nobody really gives a **** about them. i think you can find some picture of the niece of the last emperor. she is a model. you can see her in bikinis and such. that's a crime punishable by death in the past. not anymore i guess.
for anyone who's serious about understand Tibet and its full complexity, I strongly recommend the following link: http://www.mutantpalm.org/schizolympics-words-fail-us-collection#scholars it's a collection of short articles by historians and anthropologists who actually speak Tibetan and specialize in its culture and history.
