I have been reading this board for a long time so. As a active poo flirting participant in the D&D, you are not a stranger to me at all when I registered to post. You seem to be posting under more than one ID. What are your other User IDs?

The interesting part about the effectiveness of Chinese state brainwashing is how remarkably consistent it is and how passionately its proponents believe it - i guess it is difficult to repudiate your whole reality after you have fled your home country and are in a strange land.

This is actually really genuinely does creeps me out.

It reminds me The Manchurian Candidate (the original - haven't seen the remake) where when anybody mentions Raymond Shaw the soldiers all all automatically blurt out, “Raymond Shaw is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life.” like a clockwork mechanism.

With one or two exceptions, you get that rigidly identical response on the subjects of China, Taiwan, the CPC and Democracy, or Tibet. It’s like everybody is reading from a shared script.

I can also say when it comes to anything related to China, there are also a few anti-China folks who seem to be reading from a shared script. I could almost guess exactly what they would say even before I start reading the thread. Like I have said before in this thread (IIRC I was responding to your another post), everyone is hypocritical to a certain extent. But the hypocrites who try to act like they are righteous while being so obviously hypocritical make me want to puke.

I bet there are different opinions on demogracy, the Chinese government,
etc. In fact, many Chinese dont like the CPC at all. But Tibet and Taiwan
issues are different as strong nationalism is a common ground for most
    Chinese.

The interesting part about the idiocy of an American moron is how remarkably low the count of his brain cells are and how passionately such a moron denies his own lunacy - I guess it is difficult to slow down the effects of mental r****dation on your behalf on matter how one tries to enlighten you.

On a more serious note Sammy, the last time I was in Tibet, I had a map/tourist guide in one hand and dictionary (didn't help me) in the other. I was a bit too touristy to bother counting the number of people.

The other thing is, if one wants official information on Tibet, there is only one source to get it. But not to you Sammy. You know better. Care to show us your source? I would like to be educated. So educate me with your non-brainwashed material.

I don't get you. Dalai's stance was that the reason for the protests was years of resentment and pent up anger. He also claimed that the protests were spontaneous and not premeditated.

Then in your article Dalai asked for proof from Hu and Wen that the protests were indeed non-spontaneous. So I show you a video that would indicate otherwise. Now, the man in the video claims to be a pilgrim, I'm not sure about that claim, but then again, western media had no problems claiming that the first couple days of protests were peaceful, despite not being there.

If you want to tell the truth, the CCP significantly limit the personal and religious freedom of the Tibetans. But the Tibetans are also jealous of the ethnic Han's economic success and committed non-peaceful racial crimes. Why is it that they are instead portrayed as peaceful chanting monks? Apparently it is only "truth" if it is told against China. That is what one calls plutocracy.

I think we are misunderstanding eachother. I just don't see any mention in the article about spontaneity or premeditation. I see him asking for proof that he has been an instigator in this matter, which I don't believe he has. He is very candid and truthful and there is a ton of useful information and insight by H.H. in the article. He actually states that he believes Tibet should be a part of China, but only when Tibetans are convinced that they will be better off because of it. He states many reasons why at this time they do not feel this way.

    Fair enough.

I just want to make one note though. Dalai and the likes of SamFisher like to portray it as about race and religion, when in truth, the CCP is worried about "splittism."

Buddhists in the rest of China enjoy significantly more political freedom than lamas. Huis enjoy a lot more religious freedom than Uighurs. For a while, Li Hongzhi, not Dalai, was public enemy number one, and he's ethnic Han. Taiwan is also told in no uncertain terms that war is coming if it declares independence, and that if it abides by the "one-China policy," anything is negotiable, much like Tibet. So you see, it's not about race and religion.

It's a hilarious image but when I read the "Chinese" side of these threads I always visualize a quonset hut full of CCP staff in Mao suits furiously typing out the official government propaganda...on a basketball forum.

i would agree on most part. i think the government don't really care about anything as long as they are in control. if you so mind your own business, they would careless about what you believe or do.

who still wears Mao suits these days besides the older generation? that poster isn't much about propaganda. it's about power struggle within CCP. basically the #2 dude planned a coup. i think he was close to Soviet. and he got shut down on his way fleeing to USSR.

I couldn't read it and actually don't much care about the actual context, I just like the image, MFW with his megaphone.

How's that working out for the people of Hong Kong?

Why must China hold together it's "provinces" by force? Why not let the people of Taiwan enjoy their prosperity in peace? Other than the image of total domination of the former empire, what is the gain for China to have Taiwan under their auspices?

Other than the threat of war, what is Taiwan's motivation to be a part of China? Why would they want to be ruled by an outside authoritarian regime?

a lot people are Taiwan are still thinking about taking over mainland again.

it's hard for you to understand why China holds everything together. it's partly due to the development of philosophy in China. a dynasty called Zhou was always looked upon as the Golden Standard of society by a lot of the philosophers about 2500 years ago. everyone's ultimate goal was to rule "all under heaven" and return to the golden age. it's not a CCP idea at all. even if it's democratic, it would still follow the same thing. any government that does not do so, will no longer be in power.

an interesting video about the young dalai. he went to beijing and met with all the high rank officials. and was given a high rank position in the government. he gave gifts and repeatedly mentioned one china. toured everywhere. after he went back to tibet, he wrote a poem praising chairman and described him as the sun. panchen lama was with him the whole time. funny how panchen didn't revolt and stayed.

That's it? That's your response? What if I tell you when I read the "American" side of these threads I always visualize a white trailer trash with chipped teeth and his pants below his ass crack?

"CCP staff in Mao suits" didn't start this flame posts. White boys still looking for Tibet on a map did.

More pathetic attempts to discredit me. That's good. As long as have nothing to say, say nothing. It's not like you are adding anything to the argument.

What about Hong Kong? Last time I checked, it's working out pretty well.

Why must the US hold "the state of Hawaii" by sham referendums? Why not let the people of Hawaii enjoy their customs in peace? Other than the continuation of an imperialistic invasion, what is the gain for the US to have Hawaii under its auspices?

Other than being wiped out so they can't form an effective constituency and legislatively prevented from doing so, what is the Native Americans/Hawaiians' motivation to be a part of the US. Why would they want to be ruled by an ACTUAL outside colonial regime?
