OKC's defense varies a lot and they clearly didn't bring it tonight. It's a thing of beauty when they lock in. I haven't thought about a correlation between poor team defense and huge block totals by Ibaka. Just from my flawed memory, seems like OKC dominates when Ibaka takes over on defense. Great game tonight. Win or lose, major props to the Nuggets for leaving everything on the floor tonight.
how many straight long jumpers has westbrook hit? like 5? and how many straight calls has okc gotten since the end of the 4th? 7 or 8 at this point?
when's the last time a team had a 50 and 40 point scorer? if durant gets fouled to stop the clock we could have it. i think it happened in the 186-184 game.
Thunder are young and edging close to the best tam in the NBA, they have better interior Defense than the heat. What I don't get is how they will keep it up. How will they keep their team with 2 max players(durant/westbrook, eventually earning closer to 20 million), Harden/ibaka(who are both going to get around 10 mill a year average if not more), and then perkins who will be just under 10 million.
The last 40-40 teammate scoring duo was Reggie Miller and Jalen Rose in the 2000 playoffs game 1 vs the Sixers. Clyde and Hakeem scored 40+ in a game once as well as MJ and Pippen.
amazing performance but the problem with the thunder is they don't have a true scorer down low. that's gong to be a problem if/when they make it to the finals to play the bulls or heat
That was a really tough loss for the Nuggets. On Friday, they lost at the buzzer on a tip-in at Memphis after coming from behind. I thought the Nuggets had it clinched up 5 with 40 seconds left.
