Yeah but the difference is that this super team would have to go through 2 other super teams that are at least comparable and maybe better than that one.....especially is Kawhi isn't healthy or his injury is chronic which is a possibility.
I definitely agree we would be the better team. Unfortunately, i dont think lebron and company see it that way. I dont believe the best team is what hes trying to assemble. I think its the best team he can assemble in a market that suits him, which is LA over Houston all day unfortunately. Not only that, we would have to jump through hoops to get it done and that depends on extenuating circumstances from other teams agreeing to take ryan anderson. La doesnt have that problem
I think it's more of a fit thing. Kawhi and George can play off ball and shoot. Not to mention if you put two more defensive wings in that lineup no one would be able to score.
George wanted to go to LA, might end up there this year, but Indiana didn't trade him there. They took what they felt was the best package. Oh, you want LA? **** off, you're going to OKC for at least one year. If you don't stay, that's OKC's problem now. Kawhi can wish & hope for LA all he wants. Spurs will take the best package, whether that's Philly, Boston or Sacramento or whoever. We trade you to Sacramento and you walk? That's the Kings problem now. Yes, he gave the Cavs a list. No the Celtics were not on it. Heat, Spurs, Wolves & Knicks. https://www.sbnation.com/2017/7/21/...s-spurs-heat-knicks-timberwolves-lebron-james
LeBron has leverage over the Cavs. He can force a trade to Houston. After June 29th, then he can just go to LA.
????? Getting traded to the Lakers suits both the Spurs him and the lakers right now. If the Spurs don't trade him they will get nothing back. If they trade him somewhere else, with him being such a primadona they will get back laughable assets. So I don't see what's your point. Obviously he wont' sign with the MLE. With this new development he's blackmailing the Spurs.
I would bet that CP3 will be in his ear, think about it this way. On that proposed LA super team, how many ball handlers do they have? Basically just Lebron. Kawhi isn't really a ball handler, neither is Paul George. Lebron would have to create just about all of the offense meaning super heavy minutes against both the Rockets and Warriors in the playoffs assuming he got past either. In Houston the ball handling would be split between 3 players leaving them more rested and allowing them to be on the bench for longer catching their breath. Even with Paul George and Kawhi in LA, I don't think that makes them the best spot for Lebron.
Oh, i just made up the Boston destination then, ops i was pretty sure to remember six teams but seems like i'm wrong, sorry
firstly there's not many GM that are like Presti. Seconly we are about to bear witness that a bold move like that is catastrophic. Which GM will trade a good asset for Kawhi right now? Even Ainge might regret it since there are whispers Kyrie wants to leave for the Knicks.
Getting traded to the Lakers just puts one more team in the West that the Spurs can't possibly beat any time soon. You act as though the Lakers will be the only team offering anything for Kawhi and that's just not the truth. My point was that if Kawhi doesn't get traded to the Lakers, he'd have no way of getting there unless he took the MLE meaning that the team that trades for him wouldn't be at risk of him signing with the Lakers after a year. His best bet could be re-signing with that team for the max if they are in a decent situation.
