It shouldn't be a surprise that CP3 is injured deep in a playoffs, after he is counted on increasingly more and more and more.

To the extent you role with CP3 as one of your great players, the more you can have him as the 3rd option with somewhat limited minutes and/or not so much on his shoulders down the stretch, the less likely he is to get injured.

It all SEEMS like just a pessimistic outlook, but it all goes together. Harden "struggles" in the playoffs (yes, in quotes, still really really good but still with struggles), CP3 has to be the "leader", CP3 gets injured. Just what happens. Same thing that happened to him in LAC land.

Bazemore is an above average defender. He's not elite but the dude averaged 2 steals a game last year. Plus his scoring in isolation numbers are pretty damn good.

his volume isn't significant enough and nor sample size of games either, especially when hes played in less than 50% of the total games in the last 3 years

Good luck getting ATL to agree to that.

What did he say? I remember most gave us no chance.

It was always LA even to the end...until it wasn't.

I said this before this started that it will always be LA until it is not.

If LeBron chooses LA over Houston can we really blame him.

I'm sure he's taking CP3's age and injury history into account.

He's probably looking at Harden's recent playoff performances too.

The last thing he wants to do for his legacy is form a super team that still fails to deliver a title.

If he loses in LA they'll just say it was a young team that wasn't quite ready yet.

If he goes to the Lakers without Kawhi he’s effectively conceding to being 2nd or 3rd all time and never winning another title.

Ugh it pains me to say this but... we need an upgrade and there really is no doubt. The more time this team stays as is, the more teams understand how to stop them. Adding an extra creator throws a wrench into their plans.

Yes I understand we had the best record, yes they were 10 pts away from the finals, yes is sucks Paul was hurt but also yes if Iguodala didn't get injured we might not have been up 3-2 as well.

Absolutely, but he was up to 5.5 3PA per game this year at his 39.9%.

I mean he still shot like half the total # of threes as Gordon this year. But his 286 3PA is very similar to Gordon's 294 the year before he joined the Rockets and 315 the year before that.

But yep, like I said, repeat-ability and health is the risk.

Yep. Rolling with Harden, CP3 and Capela as our maxed out Big 3 for the next 5 years assures we will never win a championship either. Maxing out CP3 without bringing LeBron or PG on board would be a franchise-crippling move.

I never expected to get LeBron or George. Was hopeful but never expected.

If you are not moving forward, you are moving backward. The Rockets can run it back. BUT, have to make some additions. If LeBron goes to LA, it just makes the West tougher. Tougher in the playoffs (2nd round) and tougher to get the #1 seed. The #1 seed is a must. Just one of the ways to help the low margin for error the Rockets have to beat the Warriors.

Rockets need to add talent to increase the margin for error.

you would have to trade capela (to try and get a 3rd star_) thats all you have..
CP3 has to be here, no chance to win the championship without him (Capela is your best trade chip)
    it is what it is..

Lol if Lebron ends up in San Antonio, there's going to be a complete meltdown here.

@cyberx @Codman @ch44 have you heard something about what Denver plans are going forward? Are they planning to resign Jokic this summer that he's restricted or they prefer to keep him at the minimum one more season to pay him next year (when he'll be unrestricted though, so, i don't see that happening)? Any rumor on them being willing to move Millsap to lower the salary amount?

This Kawhi meeting HAS to happen NOW. Spurs know this. They need to trade him before draft day so that whatever picks they accumulate, they can pick the guys themselves. Plus, will start planning.
