Let's appreciate him as a human being while simultaneously appreciating the fact that he's not GM material
Obvious troll here, although I don't remember holic being an obessive LOF. Maybe he was trying to throw us off.
I think $20 mil is fair for Capela. We all saw him more than hold his own against Towns and Gobert, who are earning ~$27 mill
Which is why you would suck as a gm. We won't be playing Townes and Gobert in the conference finals. That would be Golden State. And he does not hold his own against Draymond, KD, and the rest. KD and Draumond are the 4/5 for the Warriors in winning time. Those two guys play 38-40 minutes a game against us and when they are in together Capela has to sit down. You don't don't pay a guy 20 million so he can be benched when you need to win. We've already got one guy that's we're paying to do that. And you don't pay a guy 20 million just to eat minutes for you during the regular season and hold his own against two lower seed playoff teams. Sorry.
@Cybe Lmao, have you considered the improvement of capela could make as he’s done every year? and the fact that cousins might be crucial for warriors come post season. Explain who’s guarding him?. That said I don’t think he’s wrong for demanding what a high contract based on other centers but we should defiantly not lose him. 4/80 seems good to me, not sure why he isn’t taking that
Clint for about 15% of the cap could be fine, considering the cap will be 108 next off season I’d be okay with him making about 16.5 per on average. If we could get Clint on a declining deal, 17 mill per wouldn’t be terrible either. That’s why it’s disappointing to hear Clint didn’t jump on Moreys offer of 5/85, hoping Morey stands firm at that.
On offense yes, Capela was basically a non-factor on offense against GSW. On defense though, Capela was a huge part of why were able to run our switch everything defense that allowed us to take that series to seven games. You also have to take into consideration that Capela didnt score much because he was well-guarded. GSW allocated their defensive resources to shadowing him and that means less effort available for them to spend harrassing james, CP3 or running shooters off the 3pt line. The shots didnt go in. But youre selling short Capela's contribution in creating them
While we’re on the subject of people who would suck as gm’s.... do we need to remind you of the players you’ve suggested we sign in the past and how their careers are doing?
Yes. I've considered the improvement he could make. LMBO Have you considered the regression he could have after signing a big contract? How frequently do we see non-superstar players sign huge contracts only to regress and never live up to them? Explain who is guarding Cousins, eh? You tell me. We have Paul, EGo, Harden, PJ, and Melo out there down the stretch. You wanna know who guards Cousins????? The bench and Steve Kerr do. Ain't no way Kerr gonna have Cuz out there against our 5. Who he gonna guard? Dats right. Nobody. Take a seat. Now I'm really LMAO. 4/80 eh? Gag a maggot.
I'm thinking that 5/85 had some non-guaranteed money and some unlikely achievable incentive money included in that 85 figure.
The Warriors took our switching defense, switched Capela to Curry and cleaned our clock. Gotta watch the games. Capela hurt us defensively against them.
