Windhorst Kawhi? Lakers gave up a little bit earlier this week when they used the rest of their cap space on Lance Stephenson. ... They seem like they're not preparing to make a trade. Philadelphia went ahead and used it's cap space to acquire Wilson Chandler. That doesn't seem like a team on the edge of it's seat ready to make a move. Two teams that could have been used to facilitate a major trade, Atlanta & Brooklyn, both used their cap space on separate deals yesterday. Seems to me like the league is very much moving on not waiting around for the Spurs. Have they come to the decision that they're going to trade him? Have they given up all hope, that they're not going to worry about the contract they can sign him to, they're going to give up? That's a major decision point. If the answer is yes, I think we'll see a trade this summer. If the answer is no, and by the way everyone knows Kawhi Leonard is a tough guy to get a straight answer from, then I think we'll see this drag out. I don't know the answer to that question. I'm seeing teams move on with their business. If Carmelo Anthony ends up in Houston, can he really take a role where he fits in with that group, a secondary role to James Harden & Chris Paul? Is he capable of being a role player? He's absolutely capable because I've seen him do it for Team USA. He was terrific in that role for Team USA. He's been the absolute best for Team USA. ... Carmelo is so good with Team USA. Why he has not transferred that style over to this phase of his career is curious to me. He still has time left to do it though. I think he can be extraordinarily effective as a guy who is just a spot up shooter, who is just there to occasionally get offense - one night get 25 but the next night 8 - and that's cool. He has not articulated that's the way he wants to play in the NBA. That'll be a factor on whatever team he's on. I know he's capable. I don't know who can sit him down & tell him that's where he's at in his career but I hope someone can. ______________________________________
More players will become available in back end of season when teams start dumping salaries, happens every year. Meant to reply to @Deuce question about who else available worth MLE.
That may mean that Noah Vonleh could be made available. He would make an interesting get for Houston, young stretch 5 with upside.
Would LOVE for Houston to pick him up... if we can afford let him work on his game in Dleague and build bulk. Great Hands and can Dunk.. that guy could become something special given time and some juice!
The injuries obviously derailed everything... but what a disaster of a pick for Milwaukee then. Embiid was third that draft. Smart 6th. Randle. Zach LaVine. Dario Saric. Etc. Not sure why they don’t just “make” him sign the QO?? Get great effort out of him this year.
Joel Embiid was looking like a bust sitting for 2 seasons, surgery on his foot, knee. Long Term Career for Embiid is questionable.
If we’re trying to move Ryan ANderson for a more usable player.. what about Ryan Anderson for Tyler Johnson straight up? He’s a hussle Beverley type guy.
Crazy The Bucks just let him walk like that, a 2 year deal is very fair. If they knew they didn’t want him back due to issues with Giannis they should have moved him, guess there never was a right time with his injuries.
The Bucks don't have the room to match any such offer sheet. They will be hard-capped once they sign Ersan Ilyasova (Non-Taxpayer MLE) and Brook Lopez (Bi-Annual Exception). Unless they re-neg on those agreements, they will be PROHIBITED from matching the Parker offer sheet. I guess they could start waiving-and-stretching guys, but that could be disastrous for their long-term cap situation. My guess is that the Bucks figured out early on that Parker would ultimately get a deal that they were not interested in matching. Hence, they went straight for someone like Ilyasova to replace him.
If I recall correctly, I remember there being chatter about the Bucks fielding offers at the deadline, but there must’ve not been much of a market for him.
LMAO!!!! -- "We think Melo will look better in Houston than in OKC with Donovan's system" Just, damn!
