Haha...Sounds like the Melo signing is lined up. I'm thinking the Ryno for Bazemore trade has to be lined up.
Possible. Ariza & Luc were, when healthy, great. But Ariza has aged before our eyes for several years, and Luc’s shoulder is Luc’a shoulder. None of it matters much, as it’s a one-team league, but I never put any faith whatsoever in “running it back”. Morey has to take some risks. If his strategy is bet on Melo not looking nearly so washed up away from Russ and get younger at the wing 3&D slots, I’d understand that approach. But again...None of this matters until the NBA addresses its competitive issues. I just want to be better than San Antonio and Dallas. I think we still will be. **** Adam Silver and **** the NBA.
No, I don't see Capela and Embiid being in the same sentence. If no one is willing to give Capela $24 million a year (like an overpriced Whiteside or Drummond, at $28 million) that should tell us something. Other teams see how dependent Capela is on strong guard play and his liabilities at the line. If Capela wants to eliminate all the doubters, he should figure out how to shoot 60 percent or better from the line (something Drummond still struggles with, but he's averaging 6 more minutes and 5 more boards a game)... I can't understand how Capela can't post up smaller players (other than fearing TOs and his poor FT shooting). These are things that Capela can control and would elevate him to a true #2 or #3 option.
You described skills that in all the league only Embiid is PERHAPS capable off all of them. He got 148 million. Yet you say that Capela must have all of them to be worthy of 80? Tell me which center can post up smaller players, defend great the pnr , rebound, create his own offence, have a jumpshot , give great effort, hit free throws etc all together? That's not a no.2 and no.3 option that's a freaking superstar.
Currently, Capela doesn't even attempt jump shots in a game, and his post moves are rare. When someone switches on to him and there's a clear mismatch (think J.J. Barea, a 10-inch height advantage), Clint never calls for the ball. I just want him to be competent in these obvious situations. I'm not calling for Clint to be able to post up KAT, but Whiteside (who has a limited jump shot, by the way) would never back away from that matchup. But on the offensive side of things Clint defers to a fault. When the shot clock is at 12 seconds, if he's an $80 million dollar pro, Capela should be able to read a mismatch, call for the ball, and make a decisive move. He should be able to catch the ball at 10 feet, make a jab step and shoot a respectable jumper. That's what I think he needs to add.
I was going to tag ch for some news but i'm scared he might come in and drop a "Capela is going to sign the qo"
PG - CP3 SG - Harden SF - Melo PF - PJ Tucker or **trade possibility C - Capella 6th - **EGo 7th - James Ennis or James Nunnally 8th - **Ryan Anderson 9th - MCW 10th - Dwade 11th - Green 12th - Melton 13th - Nene
Agreed and has always stood true. The Big men nowadays are just giant athletes unfortunately and not basketball players. Hakeem , Ewing ,Mourning,Deke,O’Neal.....I miss the true BIG man.But that’s why he was never going to break the bank. Not a Basketball Player.
This is what hurts the most. We can find points but who’s gonna play hard nose defense no matter what?
How dare you compare Embid to Capela!! Even injured everyone knows Embid is a generational talent! Different comparisons
