No. Ariza is a poor man's Chandler with more size, length & better ball handling. Ariza's a better shooter but Chandler can get his shot better and is a more versatile defender
they've got there own similiar theme going on over there. guys that can play multiple positions and be interchangeable. not expecting guys like luwawu, korkmaz, etc to be on the active roster
You really think the Rockets let Ariza, who is clearly better than Chandler is every metric, go to Phoenix for $15 million only to bring in Wilson Chandler for $12.6 million? That would be idiotic. Chandler is an obvious downgrade from Ariza and would take up more cap than Ariza took.
Where do you see Chandlers shot improving? Hes a clear downgrade in the shooting department and at his age hes not changing his stripes and hes super expensive given his production. Not a player that helps this team much or improves it.
I’m starting to believe Eric Gordon is moving into the starting lineup to be our SF. I’m not completely opposed to that idea. He held up admirably on the defensive end! Now the question is how do we replace his bench production?
Rockets couldnt do anything about Ariza leaving. Had Ariza been a restricted free agent, do you think the Rockets would have matched his deal? Again, I’m not debating if Wilson Chandler is better than Ariza or Otto Porter. But the fact of the matter is we lost our most versatile perimeter defender who could also hit threes, we have $5mil to give to someone in this sad FA pool to replace him, and we are limited in trade options because we’re way over the cap
This trade has nothing to do with the Kawhi sweepstakes, unless they plan on shipping him right back out to another team in a potential Kwahi deal. Kawhi would start on the Sixers, this move was made for depth purposes I'm assuming.
No clue. He was talking with Washington and Philly. Philly is out of space now to sign him and Washington signed Jeff Green so maybe they are out.
Man I sure hope not, we need length at that position. I don't want him having to guard a Paul George or Kuzma type. Either or, we still need to be bringing players in. Luc is still unsigned as well. Plus, none of the RFAs have signed yet either, probably because all of their money is gone.
Assuming we effectively "stand pat", Ariza's minutes are just going to be spread out to PJ Tucker, Ryno, Green, LMAM, and MCW, which isn't ideal but can "hold the fort" until the trade deadline. Acquiring Wilson Chandler sounds like a terrible idea.
We haven't re-signed Mbah a Moute yet. I'm expecting it though along with the signing of either Ennis or that guy from overseas that shot 55% from 3 in practice apparently lol.
