Could see a scenario (though slim based on media reports) that Lebron stays in CLE one more year and PG stays in OKC. Maybe that's the Laker hate in me...
Woj: Market for Cousins? Only S&T market & that may not be there. For Cousins, he'll have to show he can come back on a shorter deal. New Orleans will do a short deal. They have a great chance to get him back. Chris Paul? I think they'll get there on a deal after July 1. Both sides want it. Whether it's 4 or 5 years, that'll be a question but Houston knew when they did this deal, they were banking on the first 2-3 years of this deal to have a championship window & nothing happened last year that made them think this isn't a group that can't beat Golden State. They were up 3-2. They were right there.
I don’t think @The Cat ever said it was likely Lebron would come, just that it was a possibility, one that begs discussion and analysis. Just like I don’t think my house will flood, but I still buy flood insurance just in case. It is the black swan that you plan for, even when unlikely, because its existence is such a game changer. As per usual, his podcast today was measured and rational. Does he tend toward optimism? Yes, thank god. Pessimistic fan journalists are such a drag when you tune in for ENTERTAINMENT. I don’t know any other Rockets journalist putting on content on the regular and taking the time to make these forums better. Don’t lump him into the group of unenlightened fans. Edit: typo
He wants kudos for never believing in something that a lot of us had a long shot of executing in the first place.
I agree and I just meant if paired with Harden, his eventual downturn might be evident much sooner as compared to any other team besides Golden State. Paired with Kawhi or George, he would look more dominant for a longer period of time. LBJ wants to the man for as long as he can and must realize the inevitable.
No superstars wanna play for the second best NBA team? WTF. They have no any issue that allowing Warriors to get another 3 NBA titles. SMH.
I mean, I hope LBJ gets cold feet about LA. PG stays in OKC and Kawhi doesn't get moved forcing his hand to stay in CLE or force trade to the H for a year. Doubt it doe. Maybe "stars" aren't aligning for them but maybe for us.
LeBron is better off staying in the East to chase a championship, and he knows it. His best bet is Philly, but can he fit in? Philly has always been his best bet, to me.
At this point i think it's either all bullshit about Lebron already set on L.A...or the bullshit is about PG staying in OKC, my guess is the second one is bullshit, we'll see. Imo Leonard is the only part in all this which is probably still a true question mark, even though i think he ends up in L.A, the Spurs still have some control here so, who knows.
It would definitely effect Simmons, next to LeBron he won't be able to do anything unless he will be the primary ball handler.
