I don't believe that the Suns would give their own pick. No way. Otherwise that alone would almost be enough to trade for Kawhi straight up. Guaranteed top 3.
I'm just going to guess. Ingram, Kuzma, Hart, 1st rounder via Phoenix, pick/s from the Lakers and maybe something else via Phoenix (pretty sure they can dump at least Chriss in the process, not sure the Spurs care about him though) EDIT. basically what Deuce said.
Yeah, I don't know what the Suns picks assets are. If it is *their* pick, It would have protections. But whatever pick LAL could get for Ball could be a decent asset in a Kawhi package.
Right, that would have to be his mentality if he joined the Lakers. He'll have to think that his legacy is already set and that losing out the rest of his career won't hurt him.
This would be the strongest offer from the Lakers. Spurs SHED money (Mills) and get 3 prospects and 2 1st round picks. LAL concedes to only 2 stars (because of cap issues with Deng AND Mills). They get Kawhi in the fold and hope for PG or LeBron.
SA releasing more LA trade tidbits. I think Boston is the target with LA being used for leverage. However, Ainge is as stingy as they come.
I think we are setting ourselves up to be disappointed. Anything less than that will now feel like a win for the Fakers. Don't get your expectations up on getting Lebron and/or Lakers selling everything for Kawhi.
The Lakers are the best team to use for leverage in that you know the media will go absolutely nuts actively rooting for anything that could make them relevant again. You leak something, you know it's going to be repeated EVERYWHERE almost immediately.
TBH I want the Lakers to get rid of everybody for Kawhi then Lebron still comes to Houston LMAO, That's the dream. WOn't happen, I'll settle for Morey not letting any of the main pieces go and adding someone else of star caliber. Just build on what we got.
Right, I just don't see how we can add another "star" level player if we aren't adding Lebron at this point. There's not really anyone else out there available to us. I'm more bullish on the star level of a guy like Porter but even he is probably out of reach.
Pickwise: The Suns except their own that should be untradeable have : Milwaukee's 1st round pick to Phoenix protected for selections 1-3 and 17-30 in 2019 and 1-7 in 2020 and unprotected in 2021 The Lakers have :2019 second round draft pick from Chicago If I was the Spurs I would ask the Laker's first unprotected for 2023.
It all kinda make sense btw... - rumblings about a Suns big trade - they need a pg and Lonzo fits there in terms of age - Lebron might want nothing to do with the Lavar circus etc - Woj (if i remember well) reported the Lakers were hunting for pick/s to use in a Kawhi trade
I much prefer kawhi plus Lebron to pg plus Lebron even though kawhi is better than pg. Them giving up the farm for kawhi, Lebron plus meh players is better than pg and Lebron joining what’s already constructed
