I'm looking for: Ball to the Suns for a pick and maybe one of their young guys thats NOT a star (other pieces may be involved here as well like Chandler) Kawhi to the Lakers for the Suns pick, Lakers pick(s), Kuzma, Ingram and whatever young guy they got off of the Suns. Maybe Josh Hart as well.
i think this will go down as the biggest mistake of lebrons career. he forms and epic super team in LA and they either get edged out by the rockets or stomped by gsw in the wcf due to PG being overrated or the rest of the roster not being able to compete with the warriors.. bandwagon cali fans heads will be spinning
Take solace in the fact that SAS with a happy Kawhi were already major contention (60-win team). They will *not* improve their team by trading with Ainge for a disgruntled Kawhi (at cents to the dollar) over the future they had before they screwed it up. Not to mention losing a quiet, hard-working, diligent, legit MVP candidate to internal beefs can't help wrt attracting big names. Like, Pops, "Don't look in that Kawhi closet, let me introduce you to Lamarcus...he's great at the old-school, 18'er...and likes 20 shots per game."
Lakers will give up whatever it takes. They are essentially trading for Kawhii + LeBron if they do the deal. Leonard is an MVP candidate, people are underselling him. He wants to be in LA. The Lakers need to make it happen.
What could the Godfather offer be? Ingram + Kuzma + Hart + LAL 1st + (Lonzo routed to PHX = PHX 1st). + LAL takes Patty Mills contract LAL takes Kawhi and Mills into capspace. LAL keeps Deng.
If kawhi and lebron go to a lakers team that gets decimated in a trade, is that really a bad outcome for us?
i think this is a mistake for lebron. that team will be out of assets. you have to have a complete roster to beat the warriors
If Lebron goes to the Lakers it won't be about competing, it'll be about hanging out in LA. He'll have essentially given up on ever winning another championship.
