Mainly because nobody actually knows Lebrons intentions and we certainly don't know what discussions have occurred. If Lebron is leaving, it sucks for Cleveland but an opt-in and trade benefits them assuming that they get something of value. It all comes down to what Lebron wants to do. If he wanted to come to Houston then he would have already been laying the groundwork for a deal with Cleveland. Maybe he's already done that, maybe he hasn't. We have no way of knowing.
It's actually "prior to June 30th" Here's the actual CBA Verbage: Any Option must be exercised prior to the June 30 immediately prior to the Season covered by the Option, except that an Option in favor of a player who would become a Restricted Free Agent if the Option were not exercised must be exercised prior to the June 25 immediately prior to the Season covered by such Option.
Morey hasn’t made a wrong move in 2 summers. Hired D’antoni, signed EGo, Ryno and Nene, and developed Capela. 55 wins. Traded for CP3, didn’t give in to NYK, got Tucker and LMM. 65 wins. I don’t expect the circus to come here. Take care of our guys and replace Luc who’s probably a goner and I’m good. I will enjoy watching the Lakers and Kawhi try to get Pop to help make life easier on a man who was a total ass to him for a whole season though.
I don't really know, but to me it's like he doesn't even take the posssibility seriously, that's what i get from those emojis, but then again, who knows...
Pretty sure that OKC has known all along that PG13 would opt out. That allows him to play for $30M next year rather than $20M. OKC still has his Bird Rights so it doesn't mean that he's not going back, it just means that he'll be making $30M next year. It does likely guarentee that he won't be traded to Houston.
If you think the Rockets' desire for Melo is the reason they extended Harden, I have a few business ventures I'd like to pitch you.
Expecting to see the Lakers trading a first round pick or something along with Deng to the Suns for Chandler which gives them 4-5 million in space and they can dump Randle. I think that would give them essentially the amount needed for two max contracts right @aelliott ?
