People act like nothing leaked last year and I don't get that. @Clutch did a podcast before anything happened where he talked about the strange optimism coming from the Rockets regarding Chris Paul. Patrick Beverly telegraphed his trade. The stories were there, we just overlooked the possibility of the opt-in and trade.
Correct. There was growing momentum, and it was well chronicled nationally, too. The approximate timeline, as I remember it: Wednesday, June 14: Woj mentions on a podcast the Rockets being interested in Chris Paul Thursday, June 15: LA Times reports CP3 will meet with the Rockets and Nuggets in FA Sunday, June 18: Beverley mysteriously goes out of his way to mention trade rumors at a Houston signing event Saturday, June 24: Chris Haynes says the Rockets are increasingly serious for CP3 Tuesday, June 27: Marc Stein reports even more CP3-Rockets momentum Wednesday, June 28: Deal announced in the morning by Woj I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things, but there were definitely leaks and a clear upward trend in momentum prior to June 28 for the Rockets. My guess is at least some of those leaks, especially the latter ones, came through Clippers' sources... with more people in the loop because of the trade option. That's why I don't buy at all the thought that we're just going to wake up one day and boom, LeBron picks Houston and the deal is announced. IMO, if he goes down that path, there will be some telling signs beforehand. Don't have any yet, and running low on time.
When the dust settles who stays/who comes may well be the window into whom CP3 and/or JH13 want to play with. One Lebron side question - - not sayin'/just playin' that he decided to venture to TheToyShop, how would the handling of the Rox' rock actually work???

Barton and Tyreke are going to be out of our price range I think. Tyreke is looking to get paid, he had hoped for a max contract a few years back. Barton hasn't gotten paid yet in this league. Neither seems likely to turn down millions extra to play here.
Nope. Let's overreact because I want this while I can have the dream alive. The tweet specifically quoted the portion about the Rockets. He's blowing the white smoke to let CP3 know he's on his way. Maybe he'll take a vacation from his vacation to come out to the MVP celebration tonight to hang with his new teammates.
