I don't buy it, sounds like tampering charge waiting to happen. It's one thing when the players talk, another it's actual meetings between ownership/management and players still under contract with another team.

At least, they would keep that away from the public eye.

Yeah, if this is really happening this girl is stupid for putting it on blast on twitter. I don't buy it even remotely, she's just looking to be the first one to score some views/follows/mentions, etc..

The simple reality is that if Lebron to Houston is happening, it has to happen prior to the date when Houston can legally talk to Lebron. With that being true, the Rockets simply have to tamper, either by speaking through players or something otherwise.

The single biggest piece of evidence that we have that we are still in it is that Lebron has not opted out of his contract. June 29th. is really the key date to wait for.

They can label it a casual dinner. How can the league prove it’s a official meeting ? Personally I would have held it at Paul’s house under the guise of a dinner party amongst friends

I will still keep my money with ch44 that this always involved the 3rd piece and LA cannot do it now. I think assets are required to move Deng and at that point the entire LAL team is gone except stars. Capela, CP3, Ariza stay. Boogie will reup with NOLA. Butler will take into trade deadline to move if ever. Kawhi is not going to LA, he is going to Boston and it may take awhile and Spurs and Celtics can wait, Kawhi can't. LA has been talked up enough to be a real option that I think nothing has changed since the end of the season. I think we resign Ariza for around the same contract and that is the best he can get on this market. I feel there is a good chance we get LBJ but there is also an outside chance for Morey to work magic to help OKC and Cavs. Morey through CP3 could have sold LBJ on PG13 as well. There is a lot of synergy in that deal to make it interesting. OKC needs lateral moves with assets we want, Cavs need tax relief and picks, Sac and Chi out there to help. I think most of this stuff is ready for right after the draft.

Boston or Philly will get Kawhi but it will be Boston. They cannot sit this one out and the Spurs will not send him to the Lakers. This will drag as long as Spurs an Celtics want it. Celtics are 100% flexible and so are Spurs. Kawhi cannot wait.

clippers are picking up a lot of steam for the kawhi sweepstakes, apparently. some ppl are saying kawhi prefers the clippers over the lakers if he were to be in LA - part of it being he doesn't like the extreme spotlight that comes with the lakers. the clippers also have jerry west.

tobias harris, the 12th and 13th pick, and a future first rd pick is better than anything the lakers can package currently.

But it really comes down to whoever offers the Spurs the most. Even if Boston is told he won't re-sign, I could still see them pulling the trigger on a trade and hope to convince him by winning in their market.

I don't believe that package as offered or the picking up steam within one day. It's a good package. All of that is hypothetical media just like when they list our trade packages and don't have a clue or hype something up. They have their agenda. Boston can offer Kyrie +1st that makes it easier on Boston and Spurs or anything else Spurs want. I don't believe the media BS about spotlight. That is cover for why didn't you stay in SAS and the same crap they always do. Kawhi wants Lakers and won't get it. Spurs have Boston to wait him out. He will go when they are ready and get the deal they want. I think that talk is centered around getting it done around the draft and trying to pick up speed on the deal with more suitors having to get in play. It's so close now that this probably happens after the draft. Spurs are very deliberate.

I don't know how anyone can talk confidently about how this will play out.

    They can’t.

Also there is not any meeting between LeBron James and the Rockets brass in the next few weeks. Any discussions would be through Chris Paul and later Carter.

I'm with you. I feel like LeBron himself doesn't know at this point and so anyone who says they know anything for real right now is full of crap. Everyone wants to be the first to report the eventual truth but the fact is it'll be a while before anything is set in stone.

I still have the feeling that our basketball pitch to Lebron will be so overwhelmingly good and so damn convincing that he’ll end up ditching his LA dreams to come here

I don’t see the Spurs trading Kawhi to the Lakers, and Bron and PG in LA just isn’t enough

Bron has lost to GS 3 out of the last 4 years and KD is about to catch him with regards to # of titles and # of FMVPs...GS does not fear or respect Lebron, it’s time to change all that

form a Big 3 of guys who are tired of losing to the Warriors and have the ability to take them down

Yeah, if he goes to LA it's because he's not interested in winning anymore.

Exactly. People have been trying to say that LeBron has nothing left to prove and that his legacy has already been cemented so there's no need for him to come to the Rockets to ring chase. Bullsh!t. I have no doubt in my mind that Bron thinks about getting his revenge on GS every single day of his life. He's not stupid. He knows we can provide him the best opportunity to win. He knows he won't have carry the team and beat up his body for another year. LA can be where he spends his washed up years, but Houston can be where he solidifies himself as the undisputed GOAT.

Just wait, please, to see what a reconstituted Lake squad would resemble if assembled with LBJ. Betcha: formidable. If he goes it will not be solo.
