Toronto has an $11.8m TPE for DeMarre Carroll trade (assuming TPEs can be used in SnTs like before).

Ariza could be traded right into that TPE for 3yrs / $36.8m

'just' providing a TPE for Rox; if hardcapped, does that therefore become valueless?

Is 3/36.8 more than DM the GM would pay? I suspect it is @The budget???

We call the NBA a Soft Cap vs Hard Cap, because it allows use of exceptions to the cap to go over it. A hard cap is a HARD CAP!! You cannot exceed it for any reason...literally, no exceptions.

Once hard-capped by a SnT, you cannot exceed $129m....Hard stop.

So yes, if the Rockets gain any TPEs while purging salary to get below the hard-cap, they can't turn around and use the TPEs to go back over. Same applies to Capela. We can't hard-cap ourselves with George, then turn around and sign Capela with a Bird Exception to move us back over the hard-cap.

That said, TPEs last for a year, so maybe we can use them after July 1st 2019.

Just to be clear, it doesn't hard cap us to sign and trade a player OUT does it? Was under the impression it was only if you received one.

    Right

This Vivi Ariza scenario is all about how to get PG13 in SnT.

    Got it.

I think only possible opening here is that we can fold an ariza sign and trade into an opt in and trade for lebron yes?

I wonder if _holic is betting his entire savings in Bron2Hou. For someone with a proprietarily calculated 90% probability of Hou landing Bron, and a Vegas odds of +800 for Houston now, not doing so seems quite irrational for someone who knows the Association so well.

Jeezus H. Gawd, you’re going to put Landry’s swill in front of LBJ?

Rockets and Lebron can not talk face-to-face right now, correct?

LeBron sits at one table. CP3 sits at the Table next to him. Morey at the 3rd table. Everyone talks to CP3. GOT IT!!!

Eh I don’t buy it......not out in public at least. That’s an easy tampering charge

    So many lol’s there.

If there wasn’t any tampering issues with this theory I could see Tilman telling Lebron,
“Hey Lebron! I own this restaurant! Is this enough proof that you need to see how I will run the Rockets if you come here? Try the artichoke dip!”
