First, Hello all! I'm new to the thread. Been reading for a couple of month and have learned alot. Thanks for all of your insightful comments. Now down to buisness.... I like the pick. Patrick seems like a very well rounded individual. One of the biggest concerns for me this off season was the team chemistry being disrupted by a trade. Guys like Patrick help cohesion on a team. Though he is a rookie, class and a high character are always respected. I'm pretty sure that J.Hill will be packaged in a traded along with Battier, Anderson, Harris, Johnson. With a team of high character guys, it's understandable no one whats to trade these guys, but some one has to go. I would not be suprised if Brooks gets traded too, for an All Star of course. If they get some "BIg Name" player, they won't be able to afford Brooks if he continues to develop at this rate. They talk about Patterson's offense. Every player on a team can't average 20 pts! You have to have players that fill ROLES!! Patterson's versatilty will help fill many gaps on our team. I think he will give good relief minutes to Bosh and Scola.( Yes I said it.)

Patterson is a stud. Definately top ten pick worthy. Might be better than Landry and have the same upside as David West type or Carlos Boozer. Very similar in measurables and College production. Should keep the guy. Teams made a mistake on Wall who shoots the ball too much and Cousins who took the low post touches because he was taller by default away from him in his junior year. Make no mistake defensive wise, minutes wise, and all around team player on Kentucky he was the best player on that team that they went to in most of all of those situations. Wall has a higher ceiling because of freshman start. Patrick had a better Freshman season than wall or Cousins arguably though?? One has to think? Was he really the best guy on that team and did we get the equivalent of the top pick in the draft? Just might have. ;)

Are the Rockets going to hold a press conference in Houston with PP? If they do, anyone know when it is?

That last video I posted had too much cussing in the lyrics for my taste to represent him properly. So this one gives you a better representation of him as a player I believe.

I just saw in Friedman's interview that he graduated from Kentucky in 3 years... Wow!

And I don't think I can possibly respect this guy even more.

I think his size will be somewhat limiting, but other than that, he was the best player available and I think better to do that then take a risk on a mediocre prospect.

If anything, we can trade this guy for a need if he does pan out. And from what I see, he should find a solid place in the NBA at the very least.

    Morey made a good pick.

Yeah, I saw the interview too, loved his attitude. Wants to do whatever it takes for the team to win.

How is his size limiting? He is 6'9. He has a wing span of over 7 feet. That's basically average power forward size.

again, Karl Malone is 6'9. Carlos Boozer is 6'8. DeJuan Blair is 6'7. Elton Brand is 6'9. Juwan Howard is 6'9. Antawn Jamison is 6'9. Carl Landry is 6'8. David Lee is 6'9. Kenyon Martin is 6'9. Paul Milsap is 6'8. Zach Randolph is 6'9. Luis Scola is 6'9. Josh Smith is 6'9. Kurt Thomas is 6'9. And all of those guys are power forwards who are either playing well or have had excellent careers.

I'm finally coming around to liking this guy! after seeing video's of his game, there is definitely some potential there!

If he can work on his dribble, It would definitely help him use his speed against other forwards in the NBA... not to mention, his more explosive that what I originally thought...

Yeah, I don't get why people keep saying that he is undersized. 6'9 is a typical PF size. What do they expect? A 7-ft PF? If he's 7-ft, he'd be picked #1.
