Do you think owners have ever thrown money at players who turn out unmotivated? I can think of a couple...
The players are toast no matter what. It’s funny how basically only one scrub player realizes this: But keep standing united when it's only going to hurt you more and more...
The "King" has spoken! KingJames LeBron James by SpearsNBAYahoo I wanna sincerely say sorry to all the fans! It's a sad day for all of us, especially u guys! There's no US w/o You. #loveuguys
I don't see this going anywhere either we'll lose at least 2 months or the whole season gets cancelled
Here are the games during that stretch. vs LA Clippers @ New Orleans vs New Jersey vs Minnesota vs Dallas @ Minnesota vs San Antonio @ Detroit The winnable games are in bold. So the Rockets will miss 5 home games, and 2 or 3 away games. By the way, December looks brutal. At least next year's draft class looks good.
Actually, those would be the first games if more weeks don't end up canceled. These are the canceled games so far: Nov 1 @ Utah Nov 2 @ Sacramento Nov 5 vs Utah Nov 8 @ Indiana Nov 9 @ Philadelphia Nov 12 vs Golden State
Anyone down to start Thabeet and tank a 40 game season? Andre Drummond 6-11 250 Center UCONN Projected to go #2 in the 2012 draft. 3. Marcus Morris 4. Patrick Patterson 5. Andre Drummond
Because the CBA has already expired, the owners would ahve up to if i remember a year after the expiry before they'd be liable for anything, ie decertification isn't really plausible anymore.
wholeheartedly agree! It's time for the NBA to start over, get rid of Stern, cancel the whole season and look honestly at the best way to handle the new league.
I really wish we could get a semi info blog on some common sense and/or legalities here, like why they can't decertify anymore, why forming a new league is impossible (potential lawsuits, that professional sporting leagues have monopoly exemption laws from the govt etc (it's why every sport consolidated into a single league))
Still sticking to my prediction, owners are going to have a decisive victory, and they are going to get everything they want.
This is one of those times I wish I was not right. I knew the last 2 days were just a dog and pony show. Owners want to negotiate with the players while they are under deres. I hope the labor board rules in their favor.
I read somewhere that the owners get their TV money this year, but in the form of a loan. So if they cancel the season then they will actually lose 2 seasons of TV revenue because the earnings for the following season (assuming they have one) would basically go to paying off the loan from this missed season. If that's true, then that's not a good look for them.
