Couldn't agree on such a small portion of BRI and now everyone is gonna lose big. This says it all...
ChrisMannixSI Chris Mannix Stern's "concessions," of course, are b.s. Leagues first offer was ridiculous. Like walking into a BMW dealership and offering 5K for an '11 So all these 7 hour long meetings were just a dog and pony show then? It's like me studying 10 hours non stop for a test only to get an F afterwards.
WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski Another GM: "I think the best case scenario now is 50 games, but I can see the whole season gone."
how do you meet for 7 hours and have nothing to show for it I guess owners feel they can wait the players out as long as need be. The union at my manufacturing plant just went on strike and we have contingency to maintain production and then just shut down for as long as it takes, Players' only recourse is compulsion (i.e. a judge).
Reminds me more of the kid who said he studied all night for a test after receiving an F. 9/10 times that is hardly the case. Who knows what went on in those meetings...
ChrisMannixSI Chris Mannix Fisher: Players did not propose 50-50. Never happened. We're at 53, they are at 47. ChrisMannixSI Chris Mannix Fisher says decertifying still an option.
The unity of the players will be really tested now. I hope they can stick together and remain calm. Some one should start a pick up game mini league. Players and Agents should look for investors, they can easily get sponsors from all over the place and a major network will pick up coverage for sure. Charge decent price tickets, they can easily turn it into a profit. Have like 10 teams with 7-8 guys on each team. Every team gets to play each other twice , then top 4 compete for finals.
What??? What a bunch of garbage. Buying a Van Gogh and paying NBA players for their service is a horrible analogy. I don't think the author realizes how impoverished Van Gogh was during his lifetime.
So what exactly do the players want? Excuse my ignorance but I haven't been following this lockout. If the league is willing to raise average player salaries, why are the players refusing a deal? What is this BRI thing they can't agree on?
From 57 to 53, for one, which is more than the owners have given, even starting from their absurd 46% figure.
Stern is claiming they would raise the average player salary 5-7 mil, while lowering the players share of BRI from 57 to 50. Stern, again, is being intellectually dishonest. That 5-7 million figure is probably at the last year of a 10 year deal, which revenues would be projected to nearly double. The owners and Stern are full of more **** than Enron.
