I don't care if it was real or not, Hakeem would've destroyed Shaq, IMO hakeem in these days can challenge Shaq and still beat him.
Hakeem WOULD destroy Shaq right now! Can you imagine Shaq trying to dribble against the man who ranks #7 ALL TIME in steals?? That tells you all you need to know about the outcome.
only now it would be all in slow motion. like MJ (not #23) at the music awards a few years ago.. the motion was the same... but it was definitely not the same as you remember from back in the day.
Shaq is all about physicality and toughness which he lacks these days bcuz of his age, Hakeem on the other hand is all about finesse and low post scoring and he still have those abilities.
you got it backwards.... dream's game would suffer more at this point than shaq's. I'm not even sure how you can measure toughness based on age? And Shaq was more about low post scoring than Dream.
A healthy Ralph Sampson would have been just as good. Which is a shame because we caught a glimpse of that back in '86.
Nevermind, I found it. "Shaq - You want to go one on one? No problem. Anywhere, any way, any time at all. - Hakeem" Too bad Dream got injured that offseason. That would have been classic.
Lebron's letter to Kobe. "I know you won the championship, but it ain't over between you and me. Sure you're pretty good leading your team, but I want you one versus three." -Lebron (with DWade and Bosh)
I used to have a Shaq vs. Hakeem Pog set. It came with a pog holder and mat. I don't remember when I finally got rid of it. It was definitely after high school.
Yeah, like Kobe never played with all-stars like Shaq and now, Artest and Gasol. He did it all by himself.
All part of the marketing campaign. Although didn't Shaq get some pointers from Hakeem? From what it seems like those guys were on good terms so I doubt there as anything of a grudge match about this.
...no way Shaq could have won that matchup - the guy was really good at a couple of things, but was far from a complete player. I wouldn't trust Shaq to take the ball "out" from the 3 pt line and be able to work himself all the way into the paint where he was dangerous without Hakeem stealing the ball from him. Shaq benefited from his teammates far more than Hakeem ever did...after all he has played with Lebron, Kobe, Wade, Nash, and Penny Hardaway all in their primes. Hakeem didn't play with anyone that good except for Drexler in the twilight of his career when he could hardly dunk.
