Cool, I'll rent Shallow Grave this weekend. I watched it in college, and I was probably drunk.

I haven't read Trainspotting, though. Heard it was really good, but I just haven't even thought about it. I'll be sure to put it on my list. Thanks for the tip.

I know hardly any of these were particularly great movies Oscar wise, but 1996 was pretty damn entertaining...

    Jerry Maguire
Space Jam (guilty pleasure of mine)
Ransom (one of Mel Gibson's best performances, IMO)
    High School High
    Long Kiss Goodnight
    Great White Hype
    Sargeant Bilko
Rumble in the Bronx (started the Jackie Chan craze in America)

Plus, 1996 was a great summer for movies

    Joe's Apartment
    Independence Day
Striptease (anything with Demi Moore nekkid is good in my book)
    Cable Guy
    The Rock
    Mission: Impossible
    Twister
    The Nutty Professor

Imagine that, not a single sequel!

No, but two remakes and a couple of tv shows.

    Also from 1996:

    Fargo
    The People vs. Larry Flynt
    Sling Blade
    Ghosts of Mississippi
    Primal Fear
    Trainspotting
