Ed (2000-04) Arrested Development (2003-06) My Name is Earl (2005-09) Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (2006-07) These were some of my favorites. Studio 60 was by The West Wing crew, which is my all-time favorite show. It was a great show but was never going to make it when it was a prime-time drama in which you had to have active brain cells to enjoy.
The second season wasnt bad...i guess if youre too focused on the title, then it would lose it's appeal, but the storyline still could have worked and fans would have overlooked the title. They should have focused more around Scolfield and T-bag. There was suppose to be a spinoff with a female lead this time around...not sure if that's still going to happen, but I think a T-bag centered story could have been used as segue to that spinoff.
I think what happened was that since it was originally cancelled after season 1, the producers knew it would'nt be around too long and tried to finish the story way way too quickly - it did make for an awful ending. The last episode alone should have been spread across at least 2 seasons.
good thought - agreed <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0BHQT3Omqtw?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0BHQT3Omqtw?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
according to wikipedia: "On October 24, 2007, The Hollywood Reporter reported that a spin off was under development, tentatively titled Prison Break: Cherry Hill. The series was to revolve around an upper-middle-class housewife, Molly, and her stint in a women's prison.[33] However, the producers' original idea to introduce Molly in the third season of Prison Break was later dropped due to the writers' strike. The new series would instead begin under the Prison Break brand similar to CSI: Miami and CSI: NY.[34]"
yeah i've read that, but read elsewhere that it's been put away for now, may or may not come out. I think that article was from 08, so it should be an update, but that's not saying much.
These were exactly my thoughts. I thought Jericho was the best show I'd ever seen, and Firefly was right there with it. I didn't see either until DVD, though.
Soap started great, but I don't know if I'd say it was cut painfully short (it was on for four years). The problem was, they kept getting more and more serious, not to mention killing off characters. By the time the fouth season rolled around, I was very ready for it to end.
It was cut "painfully short" because the writers intended on carrying the story through FIVE seasons. The cliff hanger "ending" was ridiculous because it wasn't supposed to end. Just my opinion... I agree that season four was much weaker than the previous three. Seasons one and two are some of the greatest things to ever grace the small screen, in my opinion. Arrested Development took many, many cues and inspiration from Soap.
And "Accidentally on Purpose" was canceled after one season, also. The cougee deserved more screen time.
By the way, KPRC News just said the new show "Chase" on NBC was shot here in Houston....maybe i heard wrong, but online it says it's set in Houston, but actually filmed in Dallas....one of the few times houston is involved and they couldnt even make the drive down to film
